The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Seem to have fixed that issue with a driver update. I do get horrible flicker though in games, Wow for example flickers on loading screen, game gives very very faint flicker but when you open your bags or go into menus the screen flickers quite a bit then stops when the item appears on screen if that amkes sense. Looks at Borderlands, and the flicker is there but not as bad, but my mouse move horribly fast. I have a logitech G5 and I have ther DPI at its lowest. Skyrim was the same, less flicker, but fast mouse movement and it made me feel nausious.

I use 120Hz on desktop with 144Hz in games, g-sync on.

I'm still sat here with a ROG Swift and AMD gpus. I'm so close to clicking buy on a 980 but I keep thinking there will be 8gb ones soon, or a GM200 card...

8gb ? lol.

I'm sat here with an extremely modified Skyrim, 1440p 144Hz on a 3gb 780 and it runs as smooth as a babies bottom, and guess what I dont run out of.....;)

Noob question. I've come from 1080p and the mouse movement was spot on for me. Now I'm finding I'm having to make bigger mouse movements across the mat to do the same thing. What do I adjust to get it back? The DPI in windows or the mouse sensitivity?

Normally, the DPI

I dont know if its just me or if this monitor is faulty, but WoW is a mess. There is horrible flicker in loading screens, opening menus and in game. I've tried 144Hz, 120Hz, 60Hz, disabling GSync and still nothing is helping. This cant be normal surely ?

Very strange. I play WoW, and I don't get any of the above.

Does it only do it in WoW. None of my games flicker, but I don't have WoW.

Do you get any flicker when you go through any tabbed browser windows ytou have open ? i.e. from the blue of OCUK to a white background for example ?

That is strange, thanks for letting me know though.

Had no flickering in games either, also dont have WoW though. Whats your OD setting LambChop?

Its set to normal.

I have ordered a Lindy cable from amazon to rule that out, if that doesnt help its going back as faulty.

my monitor has started flickering too?

I made a thread but no real answers:

THing is it started when I upgraded to 970's so i am unsure what is going on.
At desktop it is flickering bright/darker and text goes slightly blurry like not running at native res then back again.

What I noticed when i unplugged the DP cable from the monitor is that on the black background it appeared to still be doing it.

Is the monitor faulty?

To all of you ROG swift owners,

Do you see yourselves using this monitor in the next 5 years or so? If not, why do you think it wont last long?

I guess this question does not apply to those who live on the edge of technology but some of the users here might be on a similar boat. Im trying to weigh my options and want to know the opinions of users as when I buy a monitor I tend to keep it for a long time.

Yeah, I was in the exact same boat, down to the dodgy pink curtains in the captains quarters. I'll be keeping it for the foreseeable future, I can't think what else I'd need from a monitor other than multiple inputs, which I can get around by swapping a cable. I'm not interested in 4k.
