The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Yep it has now, but when posted that at 1434hrs it was still £509

I checked when you posted, it was £599. I suspect you were on a cached page.

Noticed that one of my ROG Swift monitors has a stuck pixel (seems to be green). Any suggestions?

You could try running UDPixel on it, or gently massaging the area with a duster or soft cloth.

After running a 2560x1080 60hz, 1440p 60hz and 1080p 120hz monitor over the last few months i thought i'd buy one of these and have an all in one solution.

I do miss the ultra wide but wow what a monitor, yes it's not IPS but this PC is purely for gaming and it's fantastic, G-SYNC i thought would be a bit of a novelty but it's butter smooth, 144hz at 1440p is just a dream to play on. My 120hz was one of the first to come out and it feels much better than that.

Time to sell the other monitors i think and buy a second 980.

Hi,

I've got this monitor, but just waiting for the display port to mini display port cables to arrive.
As I got the palit 980 card which have the mini display port. and have to say is the quietest one I've tried. left on 57% fan speed, its idle temps are, 28, and 57 load on BF4, and compared to the others, u can't hear it at all, and I'm a nightmare when it comes to silent systems. Just shocked coming from a toasty AMD card (which I've always used) to this, just amazed me.

Question is, how well did 1440p run @144hz ? Would you say a 2nd 980 is needed.

Cheers :)

Didn't monitor frames too much in BF4 but with my overclocked 980 it did seem to hold above 100fps maxed out apart from no AA and no dof.

No doubt it drops more than that but with gsync you dont really notice it.

What a difference gaming with out tearing! i noticed a huge difference, also coming from 1080p to 1440p.

Only thing now is, the small icons and texts when browsing the net at 1440p, 1080p on the desktop don't look great on this monitor :D

How do i make the make text and icons little larger whiles keeping 1440p on my desktop? ;)

Will need a 2nd 980 to max out the 4x AA tho in BF4.

Cheers.

Just go to Screen Resolution via the Desktop Right Click menu and select "Make text and other items larger or smaller". For Browsing use the zoom function! ;)

Hello everyone, got a question for people. For reference, I have 2 Gigabyte 970's in SLi connected to 2 monitors, one via DVI to a normal 1280x1024 screen, and the display port to my Swift. I am currently on the 347.09 drivers.

Every now and then (while not in games) my Swift will start flashing. This will last about 20 seconds and end with the screen becoming fuzzy. I've attached the image below to show:

If I try and change the mode (i.e adjust the refresh rate) both screens turn off and don't return. I have to reboot the PC to get it going again. Sometimes it's then fine, but I had it happen 3 times within an hour last night. Just wondering if this is a known issue?

Sorry to be the bearer bad news, chap. Mine did exactly that a few times before finally giving up the ghost a couple of weeks later.

Hope yours doesn't go the same route, but suspect you've an RMA in the waiting. Incredibly frustrating. Amazing monitors when they work.

Well that wasn't the birthday present I was hoping for today :(

Got this on the MM, will get in contact with the seller and keep an eye on it. Did it ever happen in games for you? Was hoping it was driver/graphics card related :(

Afraid so - started off with games (actually started off with some weird flickering), then that, then finally it would just do that all the time. Changing the refresh to 120hz worked for a while, then that gave up the ghost.

I ended up returning, then getting an Acer 27 1080p @ 144hz. It's got G-Sync, but it's not a patch on the ROG (when it's working). If I'd had the chance, I'd have tried another ROG - it's that good.

Hope it works out okay,

Rich
