Reading both trough this thread and that of the Eizo FG2421, am I the only one that is slowly developing a fear to purchase displays, lcd phobia?
I wonder for how cheap one can get a FW900, good ol' CRT from Sony. Not even joking btw. xD

So this is, without question, the monitor to go for at the moment ?
OcUK won't pick it up because "it's not our problem if you haven't kept the packaging".
Asus say they can't see a fault.
I've written in the CS forum, and if they are still unhelpful will take OcUK to the small claims court.
I've had mine a couple of days, and I'm really happy with it. It ticks all the boxes, and with a single 980 I'm getting between 45-65 fps in DA:I with everything maxed. The game is smooth at those frames, and it just reinforces the fact that GPU's are not ready for 4k.
As my GPU's get more powerful, my FPS will get closer to the 144 this screen is capable of. Obviously lesser demanding games perform at higher frames, and settings can be turned down if need be... but to recap, 1440p + 144hz + G-Sync = Awseome.
Hope you get this resolved, mate.
My packaging is under my desk right now as I'm obviously testing within my 14 day DSR window. I'll make sure to keep the original packaging.
Especially as my first one died within 3 days, I kept everything for just over a month, but it's a pretty big box, and eventually got thrown out (if I kept all my boxes in a 1 bed flat my fiancee would leave me!)
I didn't want to be a hassle for OcUK as it's not really their fault, and was happy to deal with Asus, but I feel they are being unreasonable now. The monitor is almost 6 months old, was I supposed to keep the box for 3 years?
Yes that is true usually, especially considering how high profile the swift is from marketing standpoint. But damn, its still quite an exception when many users whom have owned multiple of these screens. I've never heard of such ******** in the CRT days of simplicity.
I'm always of the mindset that when it comes to tech and the internet, that people will almost always mention problems but rarely when they are satisfied with a product. It is understandable when it comes to issues as they either want solutions, or to vent/inform. So when you see threads like this about X product with lots of people with problems, it always pays to take it with a huge pinch of salt.
My experiences with tech on the other hand tell me your phobia is well justified! lol
I'm skeptical wheter the Acer IPS panel will end up in any better shape. We still have never seen a G-Sync/ULMB technology combined with IPS. The deciding factor for me will be if with its higher refresh rate and ulmb, will there be noticeble ghosting and will the inputlag be kept at a possible minimum. If it passes both tests at a reasonable level it could have some potential.Even having had two of them go faulty, I love the swift, don't get me wrong. I'm also convinced I'd just been very unlucky and that the failure rate of these is no higher than other monitors in truth.
I'm hoping my exchange (if/when I get one!!) will be a newer unit - both my current and my previous were very early models, within 3 days of retail availability - and will therefore be better.
If I end up going to small claims to get my current issue resolved, I may well end up with a refund, in which case I may look to the new Acer IPS 1440p144 gsync screen.

ULMB doesn't work with GSync anyway, it's one or the other on the swift, which is a shame.
Isn't that a technical limitation though? Rather than a model specific limitation?
