The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

I would get a refund, sharpish. If my swift goes **** up any time soon that is the route I would pursue anyway. Chances of getting a refurb and one with problems seems rife and is not a road I'd want to go down

Maybe if you were dealing with the retailer you'd have a slim chance, but not direct.

I'm not sure how the law stands there, to be honest. I can't see how a 3 year warranty can boil down to "you'll just have to wait until we make some more to give you a replacement". Any company could fob customers off with that.

Really want a new monitor as this monitor is great. Refund equals searching for a monitor as good as this one with the same capabilities, which is hard to find.

Yep, I know what you mean. It's a great monitor, and although I'm within my 14 day period I wouldn't want to return it based on the bad experiences that a couple of you are facing here.

Why aren't you dealing with the retailer on this? I thought it was ultimately their responsibility?

I'm not sure either, but as Asus don't sell to end users they'd have to authorise the retailer to refund the customer and retailers have their own procedures for returns and such. Usually a manufacturer like Asus would generally just give you the next model up in performance but ultimately (at least at the moment) there isn't really one. This is part of the reason I'd always suggest people deal with with the retailer, as you are more protected under the SOGA etc.

Yep. My box and receipt are retained, and I'll be dealing with ocuk... Although I really hope I don't have to.

I'll tell got what though, I don't think I'd be too keen on buying much more Asus products if this is their level of customer service.

They have always had a bad rep to be honest, I knew that going in, so yes I think you are doing the right thing dealing with the retailer if needed.

It is a shame really as they make some very decent products, but I'm always wary about buying them because I know if things go wrong I'll be dealing with either a retailer which is often slow, or Asus direct.

I hate Asus but lack of alternatives means I had no choice. I don't see the point in waiting a year for another option that may not even be as good. Great monitor though

No string thinking about getting this for a new build

Are there any issues with it currently? I know they would have been said already but not going through 142 pages ;)

For those that are having CS issues with Asus, this monitor is advertised as having a 3 year "on-site" warranty. Doesn't that mean they repair it in your home or place of work, and if they can't do that they provide new, equivalent or refund?

Why are people having to post this to Asus and then have the broken model sent back? Am I missing something (I must be).
