The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

My 3rd Swift now *Replacement arrived today* and I've just found a bright dot/stuck pixel.

I'm really regretting buying this monitor.

Never had so many problems with something in my life.

I should read all replies before commenting in future, doh!... Hopefully that'll go away with a bit of use if its stuck.

Yeah if it doesn't go away within 1 week that will be my 3rd replacement which is a bit of a gamble with Asus as you can get anything -

  • Perfect looking monitor but it has a loud buzzing sound coming from it
  • Pitted with dirt and covered in scratches *My last replacement*
  • Ribbon cable drooping way down low *Current replacement*
  • Arrives with pools of dead and/or stuck pixels *My last replacement*
  • Arrives totally perfect only to find a white dot on bright backgrounds *Current replacement*
  • And then there's the rarest of them all, A perfect monitor with nothing wrong at all. *People are still searching for this one, As rare as bigfoot*

*UPDATE*

Just found another bright dot, for a total of 2, Seriously why can't the people at the refurb centre just take their time with these checks, Completely baffles me as it's more work for them in the long run with all these RMA's

This will be my 4th Swift within 18 days with a fault.

Honestly, plenty have had a perfect one.

Yes it's a hassle going through all this but man up, seriously, for once asus are doing the right thing and doing doorstep replacements - it's not like your without a motherboard for 3 months, it can still be used.

first world problems

Man up ? What the hell has manning up got to do with finding defects on your monitor that you just spent £630 on ?

That's like saying "Don't be annoyed that you just bought a product with defects, You should man up because manning up will definitely sort out the defects". :p

Received my screen tonight (Thanks to OcUK for the speedy turn around).

Although, it came without a UK plug which is highly frustrating (I didn't think that can happen). So I called around and managed to acquire one.

I've checked for dead pixels using a few coloured screens and then went on to some CSGO... Everything appears to be fine :)

Hopefully you get your one sorted out Dicehunter!

Those bright dots I had are completely gone, I spent a while checking and unless they've magically moved they've cleared up :)

Now I need to somehow cancel the RMA :p

I ordered a ROG Swift on Thursday, received it yesterday. Speedy service and on a first check, I seem to have zero dead pixels :)

Like Trox above, I also received mine with a Euro plug but OC UK have got one on the way to me - borrowed my wife's laptop power cable in the interim :D

Just want to say a big thanks to John Dawson for his help when placing the order, great service.

Nice one mate :)

Loving this screen so far and ocUK just set up an order for a power lead

You'll love it once properly setup and calibrated, 144Hz, 1440P and G-Sync combined, Real game changer :)

*EDIT*

Well I just got up, Turned on the rig and BOOM, Stuck red pixel right in the middle of the screen and the 2 bright dot twins also reappeared.

RMA with Swift number 4 coming up.

Yeah everything still works but usually the red light would only come on when Gsync was enabled/ingame. Even if you turn Gsync off completely the red light still stays on so presume its a bug.

Just when you thought it was sorted, hopefully next one mate!

Mine changes to white when g-sync is disabled on desktop. (350.12)

I can easily get motion sickness playing certain games. But if there's anyone here similar to me, do they know if this monitor helped them in anyway. Either minimising it or getting rid of the problem?

I have a lovely dell U2913WM, which I have set to 'game' and calibrated it and even turned off "dynamic contrast' in "display settings". But the problem still remains for me sadly
