The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Need to ask , Nvidia guys what do you use to record your game play while G-sync is in use.

Ive found DXtory buckles and is not good recording Gsync at all, frame rates go all over the place.

The G-Sync always on issue is a bug with the 350.12 driver. If it bothers you just revert the diver, and it should go :)

Haven't got around to testing it but does the bug mean it works with games that use borderless window mode instead of exclusive fullscreen?

Works as normal, it wont work in window mode at all , the light will say gysnc is on but its not really. Its a bug in the driver .

Though i think windows 10 is supposed to support Gsync in window mode but i dont know if anyone can verify that.

Well my 4th Swift replacement arrived and I was just doing something in open office on a white background and BOOM, Noticed a dead pixel in the bottom right corner of the screen by the bezel.

Seriously who the hell is making these panels

I've seen more defect free panels at a car boot sale flea market for £20.

If I could go back in time I would slap myself and tell myself to stick with my BenQ, No dead pixels, No stuck pixels, No bright dots, No endless RMA's.

I have had Korean monitors from the bay, No name brands, Which are 1440P IPS, Flown half way around the world and arrive with zero defects that are still in perfect order yet a huge well known company such as Asus can't even get it right on the 4th replacement, It truly baffles me.

And this is exactly why I don't like asus's idea of sending refurbs out as a replacement.....

TBH, I would just seek a refund and buy a brand new swift.

Dice have you talked the the ASUS rep on here about your rma`s mate he may be able to get it sorted out once and for all.

I've had the Swift for 20 days now and I talked to CS and they said it's past the 20 days so I cannot get a refund even though it's faulty.

They shipped me a brand new one, Not a refurb, Asus must be using extremely low quality panels.

This one since I last posted has actually developed a stuck pixel in the top middle portion of the screen.

Gah, what are you doing to these panels!!?? ;) lol

There has to be more defect free panels than damaged or this thread would be full of complaints.

Next one surely!

28 days for store replacement btw

Literally just turning them on and finding faults :p

The current one *Swift number 4* is a new one but sadly that didn't stop me from finding a fault, 1 dead pixel by the lower bezel and 1 white stuck pixel in the upper portion of the screen.

And the annoying thing is that I can't send it to OCUK to get a new one as I work from home half the week and if I have no monitor I can't work, I did ask if they could do a direct replacement i.e ship out a new one and I give the courier the faulty one but sadly not going to happen :(

Ignore Dice - he's been very very very unlucky with this and it's obviously left him frustrated and wanting very little to do with the monitor.

It's an amazing monitor, good colours for a TN and gsync is fantastic.

Dice, hope you get this sorted with asus, might be worth asking them for some freebies given the hassle you have had.

You're right it is an amazing monitor but this whole ordeal has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Good point, I'll do that, Worst they can do is say no and send me yet another faulty monitor :p

Exactly! Jim seems pretty responsive on here, maybe PM him and see if he can help in someway.

At least the cs from Asus is better, in the past they would have just ignored you!

Don't forget there are plenty of other forums about this monitor's problems sadly for me it's not worth the gamble for me as its a pitty as its got everything I'm looking for.

I've been dealing with Jim this whole time and he's been amazing but sadly the warehouse these replacements have been coming from have not.

I've read on quite a few different forums about peoples poor experience with this monitors faults, As you say it's not just here.
