Yeah I have to agree with pgi, while it's a different type of monitor, if I had to spend 800, i'd rather get that and add a second 780

Yep its certainly turned the screw on Asus a little. I could even buy a 28" 4k along side a 27" 144hz and have change from £800.

Nope, it's 60Hz. And many people are conflicted between these two (ASUS ROG SWIFT and Samsung UHD).

Correct, both £500 monitors (Sammy and aoc) Ocuk now have listed are 60hz 1ms @ 4k.

Any news on possible eta from any of your contacts at Asus pcm2?

If those 4k units didn't have such long lead times (may for Sammy, June for aoc) I would have snapped one up by now.

It's looking like May-June is the target for the SWIFT now too.

This monitor has loads of great features I would like but at gibbo's prediction of £7-800 that TN panel needs to be amazing, so I will be waiting for the reviews.

Is TN only cheaper or it is also easier to work with?

I haven't seen any 60hz 4k IPS panels, but is that just pricing for the market?

An IPS panel at 4K will cost you £1000+

What I want is a monitor @4K with IPS colours, VA blacks, TN speed with G Sync, anytime soon do ya think????

Well I use a TN panel at the moment and honestly don't mind it.

As soon as I can get the gpu power to run 4k at a price less than an arm and a leg I'll probably purchase a £500 TN 4k monitor

Same boat, can't fault my current Asus tn at all.

Little unsure of that 24" 4k, wouldn't it be near impossible to read anything on?

What sort of PPI is 24" and 4k?

My older Asus TN panel is fine as well (i think we've got the same monitor actually? Unless that's someone else)

Its a hell of a lot of PPI, I'd imagine the picture in games is about as crisp as it gets, keep forgetting about ui scaling

The current crop of 31.5" 4K models and the Dell UP2414Q use IPS-type panels. They are considerably slower than these 28" TN models in terms of pixel responsiveness and a fair bit slower than the fastest IPS models out there. That, the 'glow' and the price are enough to put some people off. Of course it's the price that's a barrier for most people.

Mine must be a good 3-4 years old, would hang on to it longer if it had light boost
