The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

It sure would as importing one would be cheaper :D

Gutted about the delay, any tech shows coming up that may show off other gsync monitors from other manufacturers?

The delays are kind of annoying, but I don't think I'll be purchasing one as soon as they are available anyway - I'd rather wait for lots of reviews to come in to see if it lives up to the hype. And to be perfectly honest, I'm very happy with my current monitor as it is (Dell U2713HM).

Same.... seems it took this long for a decent gaming 1400p screen with 120hertz to arrive, surely more will appear and cheaper too.

Also samsung releasing a 4k 60hertz screen which is 28" and looks awesome.

Its nice to consider 1400p but with 4k emphasis it gets tricky...

It would be gutting to spend £600 let alone £800 only for a 120hertz 4K screen to arrive a year or 2 after!

It is unlikely to happen. And good luck running 4K at 120fps or even consistently above 60fps on modern titles with good detail levels. Even in a few years time. ;)

Having looked at that, I am tempted to grab one of these 4K monitors but I agree with PCM, in that the grunt needed to shift 4K pixels is immense. My SLI Titans would manage playable rates in most titles but still would struggle with some titles.

The ROG looks like it will be my choice still.

Exactly, you have nearly 2k worth of graphics cards alone and still you would only manage playable - 4k is still a long way off from being a standard resolution.

Interesting so we are still quite a far bit away from 4ks at good speeds and hardware wise....

Perhaps we can start a petition to Asus to release this Rog already :p

We never stated a month with reason Since CES it's had some internal redesigns to improve reliability and will be closer to mid-year now. On the plus side it now runs reliably at the full 144Hz @ WQHD 24/7 (which is why we quoted 120+ before) as we're pushing the GSync chip to its absolute limits - we are quite literally overclocking your monitor! This is the unfortunately truth of being on the cusp of technology sorry - you just don't know all the variables and can only make estimates.

Well May/June probably coincides with new CPU (haswell-e) and probably new GPU options.

While it will make for a great new system it might be an expensive time :P

Personally I'm not too worried about the delay as I don't have an urgent requirement for a monitor at the moment but hopefully results in a better end product.

Still intrigued as to what the price will be.

Disappointing but I would rather it was done properly than releasing a buggy monitor in truth. I just hope nothing comes along in the meantime that takes the money I have set aside for this monitor...I am not the most patient person when it comes to tech :D
