This.
The current system is in place simply because not charging up front causes issues, such as:-
1. Card provided at time of pre-ordering does not charge at time of shipping, expired, no funds etc.
2. Customer forgets about their pre-order, then they all of a sudden get an unexpected bill.
Paying upfront secures your slot and it is paid for and done with, no surprises.
Speaking as a customer Gibbo, I would have to respectfully disagree. Would much rather be charged upon dispatch. But hey ho!
Hello guys!
New here and just wanted to say hello and that I follow this thread closely just for what seems to be the best monitor in the world
So hello fellow gamers and know that im in the same pain as you guys, about waiting for the thing to come out
I think that I have never been this excited ever for an hardware upgrade and I will sell my Asus VG278H to my brother.
I belive that g-sync will be the best thing happen to pc gaming since the GPU's was invented

Pre ordered the monitor from somewhere else today but before i did i rung to make sure they had stock so i would get one from the first batch was also told the should be with them anytime soon
So what sort of graphics horsepower are people going to need to get the best out of this monitor. 780ti be enough?
Depends on game/settings. I'll want to run this monitor at constant 144fps on BF4 which may be a push with my 780 although I think I'll wait for the 880 before upgrading.
I'm actually more interested in ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur) mode which operates separately from G-Sync. G-Sync is not really geared towards those of us that don't see allot of drops - but ULMB is.

Im currently using an MSI 780 Lightning and i have no issues staying at 120 fps(locked) during MP matches. Sure not all settings are maxed, some are actually set to low(on purpose) but all the important settings for visibility are maxed out. I dont need heavy post processing or Ambient Occlusion, i dont need anything that impairs my vision and ability to hunt down other players... okay deep breaths... guess im just saying a gtx 780 can hit 200fps fairly easy in BF4 on a 1080p display so i would assume 144hz 1440p should be doable too.
I just bought the Asus VG248QE With the G-sync DIY kit.
After one day I can only say this...
G-sync is slightly overrated, It gives you low but, to me atleast, noticeable input lag.
I much more prefer the ULMB(UltraLowMotionBlur) setting over g-sync(you can't have both). In addition to this you cannot run ULMB higher than 120Hz. But that's OK since, With g-sync on, you get more input lag running at 144Hz anyway.
Now I run With 120Hz/120fps, With ULMB On.
Even though G-sync is good, I never said it sucked, I still prefer not to use it.
I totally removes the tearing, which is noticeable when you run With V-sync Off.
Another thing I noticed when running G-Sync is that every 1-2min there is great lag, even just for a split second.
It's odd, and it might be a driver issue, but I've tried both the 337.88 and the 335.23 drivers, but it has the same problem. I also removed Geforce Experience, but to no avail.
So if you have a monitor that support 2D Light Boost or ULMB I suggest you use that over G-sync.
Just my 2 cents.
