The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Just been trying out GSYNC and its very smooth. Will try light in motion in a bit.

Overall very very impressed with the colors and build quality. You really feel like you are getting your monies worth, especially when I compare it to my iiyama.

Oh 'Light In Motion' is just that red LED ring thing around the neck of the stand. :p Nothing exciting like 'ULMB'. I'm really pleased to hear you're enjoying the monitor and the G-SYNC capability, though. It's always nice having the 'premium feel' to everything when you pay a premium price of course.

Got my one this morning, the bump in resolution is very nice. Tried Gsync with a few games but not quite sure of it. Played Crysis 3, fps was bouncing between 45-90 but did not feel smooth in the slightest. Checked to see if Gsync was enabled in the control panel, and it is.
Then tried BF4, was smoother than Crysis 3. Fps was between 80-144 but still didn't feel all that smooth. Not sure if my Gsync is working correctly or it's just not that great.

For instance in BF4 when the fps drops from max refresh rate you can still feel it drop a bit, was hoping gsync would solve that a bit. But based on my experiences with it and Crysis 3 i'm not sure it's working correctly. Might try and reinstall graphics drivers and see if any better.

G-SYNC can't compensate entirely for the frame rate drops. A low frame rate is still a low frame rate. If you can feel/see obvious 'stutter' then it may not be working correctly, though. Are you running the games fullscreen (not borderless or windowed) and is V-SYNC disabled in-game?

Oh really? I think in one of the video reviews they left it on.

I know the youtube reviews your talking about there were two on them saying don't forget to turn on V-sync or G-sync wont work . Totally wrong they are ,V-sync should be disabled as the game will be driven when the image is presented on the GPU instead of vblank/vsync ,Enable G-sync in nvidia control panel set to global that's all you need to do .. And the light on the monitor should change to RED to show that G-sync is being used ingame .Not got my one yet should be here on Monday never ordered from overclocker's sorry OC .

Mine is here, also picked up a new colourimeter as my old Spyder had pretty much had it.

Just checked it over for bleed and dead pixels and everything looks good great so far.

First minor problem though is it won't fit on my wall mount due to the weird shape of the rear casing!

Going to have to order a different mount so for now it sits on the desk :(

Going for lunch and then I will get stuck in to calibration and testing.

got mine :D

initial impressions is the unit is very nicely made has a very premium feel to it and for the price it damn well better

my BenQ XL2420 had a nice feel to it but this blows it away

gaming with the increased resolution and screen size is awesome

so many games i tried have a new lease of life because of this monitor

only problem is windows looks weird maybe its cause i need to get used to it and i defiantly need to calibrate it so if you guys dont mind sharing your settings

also replacing my vast 1080p wallpaper collection is going to be a pain

will starting collecting 4k ones to be future proof

Ah man it is so nice not having a poverty spec 1920x1080 screen any more!

Just ran my new i1 Display Pro calibration software and the screen looks so good for a TN!

Next to my 30" Dell 2560x1600 IPS if you are straight on to the Asus it is very impressive!

My poverty 120Hz before this was an Asus VG236H and let me tell you the TN panel in that was so bad no matter what you did calibration wise it looked washed out and horrible, don't know how I kept it so for so long!

Will try and get some pictures in a bit but I am no mrk or the likes :(

has there been many good lag tests on these gsync screens?

have to say this is my fav gsync screen so far, asus didnt cheap out huhs :)
