The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Ah man it is so nice not having a poverty spec 1920x1080 screen any more!

(

tell me about it was so annoying getting all these great games and being limited to 1080p and having the crack the AA up which just makes everything blurry

not to mention the limited real estate on the desktop and viewing web pages etc

we are no longer living in the stone age

i1 Display Pro Calibrated settings for D65 120 cd/m2 on my monitor are:

Brightness 29
Contrast 50
R92
G91
B95

Side by side the 30" Dell IPS is in my opinion still a lot better but for a TN panel I am impressed.

Tried to take a picture but my phone camera just couldn't get both screens looking right.

Aha. Disable it, otherwise the game will override G-SYNC and enforce VSync instead.

So after playing with it disabled it is soooo nice :D If I'm getting frame drops I don't notice it. The crosshair is really nice but I hope they include more options as the ones they have are to big for my liking. All I need is a red dot.

Think tonight I will try ULMB mode.

How are the viewing angles? Is there a noticeably shift if you move around in your chair even when facing the display?

I've got an old Dell 3008WFP (IPS, 30" 2560x1600) I'm thinking of pairing with the Swift...

Per the TFT Central review you get the normal TN viewing angles - so if thats important to you then I would keep the Dell (I used to own a 3007 so know where you're coming from). I am however very impressed with the IQ, so if your predominantly using your monitor for gaming then I would ditch the Dell in a heartbeat.

For anyone interested, I have the Eizo Foris and Asus monitor next to one another.

Colour and picture quality definitely superior on the Eizo, but when in a game, the extra resolution and smoothness provided by the g-sync is just awesome.

Interesting. Have you compared both using the ULMB mode on the Swift?
