A good read:

So next time someone quotes history (not that it's done here :p) point them to that article. It might help them see through the mist of jealousy.

Anyone who starts talking about the history of a club is a muppet at any rate. Its usually Liverpool fans who are unable to accept that their history is all they will have for quite a while to come and act as if it matter.

Players only talk about a clubs history when they have just signed for them. It's a generic platitude that keeps the die hard fans happy.

History is as said from a player a sucking up to the fans gesture as is 97% of all things they say, fans that make a decision about liking how a player is based off such statements are hilarious(and liverpool fans :p ). When fans talk about history its either "they can buy a title but they can't buy history", which means its 99% Liverpool and Utd fans that say it, and its worthless.

All clubs have history, most clubs have been around for a few decades at least, a huge number of clubs have been around for a hundred years, winning isn't "history", its PART of history, so is losing, so is drawing and so is being good and bad. It's the most overused nonsensical meaningless argument used on these forums.

Do the FA make things up as they go along? £6,000 for making a racist comment but £10,000 for retweeting a picture of Howard Webb in a Utd shirt?

As I've said before the FA only really act when the press are all over an incident but when it doesn't get much attention, they brush it under the carpet.

AVB's 10 commandments: his management secrets REVEALED

  1. Thou shalt demand as much credit for another man's work as possible
  2. Thou shalt only speak about "the project" when discussing future aspirations
  3. Thou shalt use interviews to fill players with enormous confidence
  4. Thou shalt maintain the ultimate grade of facial hair: not quite stubble, not yet a beard
  5. Thou shalt produce over exuberant celebrations to indicate a high level of passion
  6. Thou shalt crouch during games to give spectators a more dynamic view of your package
  7. Thou shalt never, ever clear your throat
  8. Thou shalt deploy the four finger whistle to get a player's attention
  9. Thou shalt laugh at your own jokes
  10. Thou shalt instruct players to hug you in public
