I know it's a lower league, but it must be a rarity. In the BSQ South, Farnborough have had major player registration problems and cannot field any goalkeepers. An outfield player will have to go in goal against Staines, and probably for the rest of the season.

Don't matter anyway, our lads have got it sewn up imo :p

As was at my mates house last night and we were watching the Norwich-Swansea on match of the day. Towards the end of highlights his girlfriend who isn't really into football comes into the living room just as Grant Holt came on as a substitute. She said 'wow that guy is HUGE, why are letting a fan onto the pitch?!?'.

Naah, most fans would do a better job I reckon

Jesus, how are these clubs in operation, and how the hell do they get into this much trouble, to me for clubs mostly making below 20mil a year in the championship the clubs on 10mil debt look dodgy to me, 40+mil seems nuts and the 70+ mil group are ridiculous.

Brian McDermott looks set to be named as the new Leeds United manager as Sky sources understand he is in 'advanced talks' with the Championship club with betting suspended on the next boss at Elland Road.

The former Reading boss was the early favourite to take the role after Neil Warnock's departure but this weeksaw ex-Chelsea chief Roberto Di Matteo heavily backed to move to the head of the market.

Former Leeds defender Dominic Matteo was cut from 66/1 to 7/1 as he moved to on the list of contenders but now it looks as though McDermott will be the man to take charge at Elland Road.

Brendan Rogers with fails to reach European league places excuse in place! Not getting in Europe will enable them to get higher in the league next season so they can get in Europe!

"It's a double-edged sword for us. We want to be in Europe, the players want to be in there, the supporters want to be in there.

"As a manager, it's a great test, and I really enjoy those games. I really enjoyed the Europa League this year.

"But you could argue that having one season out of Europe would give us an even greater chance next season of really challenging at the top of the league in that top four, because that is a really difficult task now with the number of teams up there, and with the finances involved, that are way beyond what we have.

"This would give us a really good run to do that. But ultimately, we're a club who want to be in Europe. We want to have a squad strong enough to cope with European football and the domestic league and cups.

"We're going to finish as high as we can. If we don't get into Europe, it might be a blessing for us next year.

"But we are certainly a club who want to be in European football."

Basically trying to have some positivity of not being in Europe? Don't see a problem with that and I don't see why anyone would've expected us to be higher than where we are, if Skrtel decided not to play like a spastic the first two games and that Shelvey red card we'd be sitting a lot closer to where we want to be in the table, those first 5 cost us a huge amount.

Surely the only teams that deserve to represent England in Europe are those who have the quality/squad depth to juggle both Europe and Domestic competitions? Other than those who fluke there way in by being runners up in a Cup competition of course ;)

tbh Liverpool could have a season without the distraction of Europe, the league cup and the FA Cup and I still dont think they're good enough at the moment to finish top 4 so all a season without the Europa League will do is give them a better chance of qualifying for it the following season which kinda seems one step forward two back to me :p

Who fluked there way in being runners up in a cup competition?

Our first 11 is good enough for top 4, minus cbs who have all been infected with something from Arsenal's defenders, our squad certainly isn't good enough but in reality we could have easily been sitting close to fifth with a bit more luck/less retardation in our first 5 games.

Odds on managers to get jobs are hilarious!... Dominic Matteo was 100/1, someone puts 20p on him and he goes odds on!:p

Gus Poyet was 1/10 to take the Reading job at one point when it was never on the cards.
