Why are you shocked? None of our players have just been charged with racism

And for the record you're the second person to post that link today

Christ almighty. Getting anyone to express a real opinion on MotD is like drawing blood from a stone at the best of times, and when somebody finally does, Alex Ferguson gets his knickers in a twist about it.

He'll probably strop and stop talking to the BBC again soon.

Hes an utter pleb that Fergie....hilarious that hes getting his knickers into a twist...so does that mean no other pundit can say Utd arent such a great team or something to that effect?? because it might just hurt the poor sods feelings??.

Fergie is a great manager but **** me he needs to do a bit of growing up...he needs to stop paying so much attention to pundits and concentrate of trying to win the EPL lol.

So for the fan base to be accused and demonised as mindless racists the club needs to have a player charged 1st

Good job Peter Schmeichel racists comments were swept under the carpet then eh

Not at all, you're the one that's saying you're surprised it hasn't received more media interest why don't you tell us why you're surprised?

Does anybody follow @duncanjenkinsFC on twitter? I'm not sure how best to describe him other than a football blogger that's a parody of himself. Not only is he incredibly funny but he's relatively insightful and gets the odd bit of inside info.

I laugh at your posts enough as it is, no need to add mates to the end.

In other news, the jury is considering its verdict in the Redknapp trial. From the little I've followed, I can't see how he can be found guilty. It appears the prosecution's entire case is based around a recording of a conversation he gave with a NOTW journo where he admits the money was a bonus for the Crouch deal, however as Redknapp's defense says, Redknapp was under no obligation to tell the journo the truth about such matters.

Well there is also that other TINY piece of evidence...... the 190+k and the fact he actually didn't pay tax on it? ;)

Really while his defence of "i'm stupid harry innit" is somewhere between ridiculous and, explains a lot about Harry. Should someone who has paid, millions and millions in taxes get done for forgetting to pay 90k, maybe.

THe question is, at the time when he was risking losing his house, how much money did he really have.

Tax evading NOW while he's rich with a great income is one thing, but when investments go bad, economys crash and you're facing debt and losing your house and you "forget" to pay 90k...... well it has a different implication.

Let him pay the tax, and a big fine, and get on with life. Considering the ridiculous cases we hear constantly of people being let of serious crimes for epically stupid reasons I can't see how punishing Harry helps anyone, except Arsenal.

DM, you do realise the prosecution openly state the the case rests on whether Redknapp got that money as a bonus for the Crouch deal or whether it was an investment?

You've not again wrote a whole lot about something you don't understand?

It's a bit strange though, he repeatedly insisted that it was for the bonus, his own words, his own voice. Why would he make up such an odd lie

Maybe he doesn't want a newspaper knowing his private business. He could very well have been telling the truth but there's valid reasons as to why he may have lied to the reporter. It's not as if he's not got a history of lying to reporters, is it :p

Yeah, so say nothing, don't repeatedly lie! They keep going on about his good character which is total rubbish if he's going around lying to national newspapers for no good reason. Make up their minds, he's a liar or he isn't. He can't be innocent AND have a good, honest character. He's lying one way or the other.

The reporter was claiming Redknapp took a bung, it's up to him how he wants to respond to that claim. By saying nothing he risked the NOTW reporting that he took bungs.

There was no obligation on Redknapp's part to tell a journo the truth.

Wut? By saying nothing he risked the NOTW reporting he took a bung but by lying he risked them reporting he evaded tax? Didn't really help much

How would the NOTW know whether any tax was paid on the payment?

They had no proof of the bungs either, we don't know what the papers knew or could find out/make up. From the case it seems that a few have very close links to the police though ..

We don't know, I suppose Redknapp didn't know either. I'm not saying it was the case but it's very possible that Redknapp said it was a bonus from the Crouch transfer as an attempt to get the press of his back, without disclosing his private matters.
