Personally I like playing with friends on Teamspeak, I'm not overly bothered if we win or lose (Sometimes when we lose I get to learn something). As the server was on a team switch frenzy, it wasn't fun so I left to play CTE with kiwi. On teamspeak. ;)

Looks like a good deal, there's a huge amount of content for £16, and although there are a lot of players with hundreds of hours (or thousands) playing, there is still a steady influx of new players, so if you're new to the game you won't be the only one who gets a bit of a pasting to start off.

I hope so, I've picked it up since I liked Battlefield 3, but I bypassed this when it came out as my rig stuttered because of my card's VRAM, upgraded now and it'd be rude not to at this price!

I wasnt talking about you. Or all ocuk. Was talking about all the whining about roof campers and teams. And Flash__Ahhhhhhh guy using 4 strong swear words in one sentence. getting kicked for it.
The main capture point is on a roof.... Funny thing is i jumped down from c to d roof to kill your roof campers not ocuk. (random guys) Then Tony came up in elevator and got me

So does that make us roof campers? :). Just didnt agree with what flash said and some of the whining you clearly didnt see. But forget it. I wont bring such things up again :)

You said OcUK, I replied as to why there was whining about the server. Flash is a bit of a nob, just ignore him... Temper gets the best of me, usually being RPG'd when I'm infantry.

You go up to a roof to clear said roof campers?
 
I've never got the whining about roof campers - most maps have helicopters that they are easy targets for, generally they are standing there silhouetted against the sky trying to acquire targets <200m with like 40x scopes making them ridiculously easy to kill - only thing that sucks is the way the lifts work + netcode puts the advantage to the person outside already :| never mind if they put C4 or something at the top.

Roof camping ruins maps like flood zone, dawnbreaker and siege, especially when you get all the engis camping there with the MBT laws.... It just completely ruins the flow of the gameplay and makes it extremely frustrating when in tanks as you can't push past certain flags/buildings unless you want to die instantly and allow the enemy team to advance forward and take your last 1or 2 flags....

Couldn't even leave our base on that siege round because you had 3-4 MBT law warriors firing at the tanks as soon as they left the initial spawn point.

I really should go back to whoring the little bird/attack heli just to keep the roofs clear.

I also don't mind being on a balanced server/team but what I can't stand is when it feels like it is literally just us carrying the team full of idiots.
 
So you were on about me? Tis cool - I hate roof camping, ruins the game imo - worst thing DICE did was the whole "versatility" BS. Yeah I did have a chops off about it - sadly zee germans don't banter back, which is rather pants of them.

Chippy that flash bloke is a bit of a nob, probably best you don't bring him along to our next session ;)

I hate being balanced for "skill" - I've worked hard to get where I am on the scoreboard, helped my team to gain the advantage and then bam "Teamswitched due to skill" - great so now not only have I just wasted my time on the other side but I need to play solo due to the inept noobs on the enemy team - all because DICE wants to make the game into an easy to pick up POS like SWBF will be.

Too many roof campers means the heli pilots not doing their job.
(Although maybe a sign of lack of team coordination in the transport)

I think it's just part of the overall balance, as annoying as can be.
(Roofs are less unbalanced than Nexus sitting outside enemy spawn in a tank on Golmond!)

Good games this evening. Strong opposition those Jolt guys, but they know about OcUK now ;):D

I'm not a fan of a big stack and hate games where it's 600-0 ROFL stomp. But if I can't play with people on TS then it kinda defeats the purpose to be honest. I understand why there is a need for balance but the banter is best when you're on the same team. Getting balanced mid game definitely needs to go.

That said I had loads of fun on the CTE last night - certainly a better experience for hit reg and I think the community on there is better/more skillful which makes it fun. Also the CMP is definitely a lot of fun for those of us who like infy play - definitely worth the 30gb download. I'm assuming the classic map will also be starting again which some of the vechicle whores may enjoy :D

I just saw flashes comments. Then comments about roof campers and team unbalance. i though you meant you though the teams wasnt fair. But i see i got that wrong. You or someone was referring to the new balance system spliting up friends. So i got it wrong. Sorry.
I see your point. Was playing with hazard and others. fanatic joined on me which auto made me leave squad. Keep forgetting to disable that. Then next round me and fana was facing ocuk and a lot of good players.

Got killed a lot from guys on c roof. Would spawn D. and it would spawn me right in the open closer to B then D with no cover. died so many times.
But we had a sneaky becon near C which saved us with having negative score. I guess they fixed it so cant have 6 in a squad? I remember groups of 6 ocuk ages ago

But seige map is one of them maps pretty much designed for people being on a roof at one point or another. Personal dont like the map design myself plus it lags me more then other maps.

Just forget what i said. I guess i took all the other comments wrong after seeing what flash said. Or can i just blame the beer instead :p
 
Unsure whether to get premium. I play BF4 from time to time and played BF3 a lot. The standard maps are alright, didn't get me into it much. Are the ones in premium much better?

The DLC maps aren't better, for the most part they aren't very good, but there's a few gems hidden in there.

The really good things about premium are:
Queue jump on servers,
Access to CTE (Currently you can only play dragons pass and the Community map project on CTE, and until recently it was the only place you could play the night maps.)

There are other nice things, but not worth paying for like:
DLC weapons
Phantom program
Premium only camo and dogtags
Extra battlepacks
