Play on DLC servers, problem solved.
You guys should try Tribes Ascend. It's not pay to win and is totally amazing once you get the hang of it. Infinitely complex as well but you can pick it up quickly and get kills - and you also have jet packs!
It's also free in case you were asking Josh

Yeah man - I honestly hate it.
My brain (?) won't let me enjoy things that are futuristic. All the decent games that come out like that are wasted on me. I want to play Crysis/Bioshock/Fallout
But I know due to this issue I won't enjoy them.

I'm actually the same, but I made an exception for Tribes. I'm not sure if you're aware but Tribes has been around for a very very long time - and when I mean jet packs I'm not talking about those crappy things in COD but real jet packs. The maps are huge, like battlefield size but there are very few vechicles.
In my opinion with the right amount of funding it could have been the next big e sports title but the developer Hi Rez f*^cked it up.

Tribes like Quake and UT are dead 
They are too high skilled for most people to enjoy so no casual scene = no party

I haven't logged into tribes for a while but the last time I played there were quite a few EU servers still up. Do you play tribes Joe?

Nah mate I was a quake/UT'r then didn't game until MW2/BF2/BC2/BF3 again. Was too busy making music and doing drugs. I have always wanted to play Tribes but it seems a little late to start now. Back into Quake live and UT new Alpha tho.
Check out Overwatch, while it looks a little ghey I think the game could be a lot of fun. Oh reflex is awesome too.
edit..I only became interested in playing competitively mid BF3, I was too busy with work, GF & music for gaming

Interesting, was the same for me. Stopped playing CS around 2001 and then didn't start playing again until 2007 (COD4).

COD 4 was just epic and also probably the last SP game I enjoyed. Then ofc I found MP and was like WAAAAAAAAAAAAT. Just wasn't single / had time until 09 so never really got into gaming until then.

Always happens when im doing good on a game and its only just started doing it more after the last patch.
Are you on windows 10 aswell.

not for ages man but I've seen it at some point, not sure if it was BF4 or something else though. The one I used to get was the DX error, but that was a few drivers back, game seems golden now.

Yeah also W10. Never thought of it being an Xfire issue actually. Very annoying though.
