The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

Jeez you guys are like a voyage into insanity... spend months saying how bad it looks and then everyone goes and gets it lol

I wanted it and bought it on day 1. Yes like others I completely disagree with op heroes, disgusting wall hax cards etc but being a fan I always knew I'd enjoy it.

Also been saying since, the game is a ton of fun, so casual and enjoyable. New free maps coming as well.

This is on for a great price on Origin right now. I loved all the games in the BF series, but didn't fancy forking out the £50 for the game when it released. Is it still populated now and worth a go?

Posted this in the GPU forum but wondered if anyone else in here had an issue with Crimson/AMD?

Downloaded Crimson yesterday and ran BF4. Then un-installed and went back to CCC.
It made the inside of buildings (and undergrowth) virtually unplayable. Sooo dark all of a sudden! Tried all the tweaks but just could not fix it. CCC runs fine.
It also changed all my window border colours to a horrible pale yellow!
R9 290, 16GB, Eizo Foris 140hz monitor. Should have run peachy.

Started playing this again.

Holy hell I've reawakened my hate for the AA.
Just played Rogue Transmission and a guy in the AA, had a score of 110-1, couldn't get anywhere near him.

Well I have to say I do love my time in the AA....but I know there are those using AA that are clearly cheating and it gets right up my nose

DEL what was the AA's name ?

I don't know if he was cheater, I doubt it, because I've seen quite a few people with massive K/D ratios in the AA.
So either it's the cheaters vehicle of choice, or it needs some readjusting. :p

Only way an AA lasts that long is if they have a lot of support from both the MBT's otherwise it's toast to be honest. Will finally get my PC rebuilt this weekend. So amped to play some BF after a couple of months off.

Yeah......and stay away from tanks lol...thats what I do..and I don't even get killed that much at all....mostly one just has to watch out for those C4 monkeys and MBTs

After 2 years playing decided to go for a few upgrades. Dell 25" 1440p monitor, could have gone bigger, but sit quite close to the screen anyway. Replacing a Dell 1920x1200 monitor. Corsair wireless 7.1 Dolby headphones, replacing on-board 5.1 audio with Triton 5.1 positional headphones. Logitech G700s wirelessmouse replacing the G500. Both are a similar size, but being wireless allows me to be just a tad more accurate I feel.

Finally a Gigabyte GTX980Ti replacing SLI GTX 670's. The Monitor is fine for gaming, The GTX 980 Ti keeps frame rate at 60 all the time, where @1440, the SLI 670's would drop into the 40's occasionally. I use v-sync because I don't like tearing and can't really justify a g-sync monitor. The only real gripe I have is the audio. I've been reading everywhere that positional headphones are rubbish. Whilst the quality of the audio from the Corsair is much better than the on-board audio, the positional accuracy is no where as good as the Tritons were. Also there is tremendous reverb. I suppose I'll get used to it eventually.
