Had a round just now on firestorm, did see drops into the mid 50's a few times. Which is similair to the old maps, but the game is running very nicely. Stock gtx 780 here on the 334.67 beta drivers. All settings maxed at 1920x1200 x4 msaa.

yer thats similar to what im getting. the maps run great and look fantastic just the odd sharp drop im getting.
Have you tried clocking your cpu a bit? Also unparking cpu cores can help too. Id enable the performance overlay in the user cfg, that way you can see if any fps drops ingame correspond with spikes on the overlay.
Maps do look very nice, particularly caspian border. Op firestorm takes a little time to get used to the darker look.

SA just doesn't look that good, fire up the BF3 versions of the maps they look better
The dust cloud is annoying as hell
Metro is still as bad as ever, only worse now somehow.
Caspian has issues eg: 4 points and LAV from carrier>land is painful
Firestorm is nice and open but doesn't feel like they spent a lot of time on the map the only plus side is they added anti sniper measures by allowing you to vent gas through the sniper spots, got a tripple kill from it

Not impressed
Not 100% sure, NV also just released a new certified driver today - 334.89, which I have just updated to. I was previously using the beta drivers though and my game ran fine prior to the latest BF4 patch
Also updated my Realtek HD audio drivers to newer ones just in case that helps for the sound loop crash, doubt it but least updated and was something mentioned on the BF4 forums.
Bout to jump on shortly and see how it goes.
The sound loop is often just a side effect rather than the sound engine being the cause of the crash though there are some significant issues with the sound engine too - I quite frequently crash when using other sound devices but so far those specific crashes go away when using the Creative X-Fi (which as I noted earlier maybe isn't suprising as it looks like they might have copy and pasted some of the audio stuff from the engine used in BF2 :S which had special code for the X-Fi).
Oh absolutely, I 100% agree. but was worth a try if my drivers were outdated anyway.
Just had a few round on SS, I'm rather disappointed, the maps are good but they ain't great. I also keep crashing to desktop with 'BF4 has stopped working' most rounds.

Guarantee you that most servers/players will go back to vanilla maps within 2 weeks....
Metro will be the only map from SA that will still be very popular as it is easy to rack up lots of points and get easy kills.
Really regretting getting premium now, CR was a huge let down and SA is just meh imo.

caspian - wtf have they done to it? bizzare
oman is ace and dust weather effects are awesome
metro seemed a bit messed up - far more basic graphics than bf3?
didnt try firestorm yet
had a terrible caspain round though enemy mobile aa was on the complete farthest away other side of the map and was shooting me down as I was taking off in 1 shot with no lock warning
this game is such a mess - really annoying because it can be so much fun at times, and at others just a laggy pos

Was just about to comment about the graphics on metro also. Looks reaaaally bad even on ultra.
SA is disappointing. Feel bummed out - don't want to play BF4 again...but nothing else out there that's any good.
Might just sell my PC for a bit to be honest. Will just end up working all night though if I do that. My Xbox One hasn't been touched for weeks now either. Maybe it is time to grow out of Gaming?
