I just get too much recoil with the SCAR H. No matter what the attachment :/

SCAR-H has barely super-sonic muzzle velocity even with the higher damage its pretty limited really to highly specific play styles.

I tend to use ergo grips a lot as the game tries to encourage a more COD play style but the weapons don't tend to work very well like that without the extra boost to firing on the move due to the quick changes from moving to ADS shooting.

Its not really suprising there are so many complaints about hit reg (though its bad in itself) as along with the supression system and the behaviour of the guns when swapping from moving to ADS while shooting + the gameplay trying to be more like COD means your first few rounds can be way outside the angle you'd expect them to be and not even going near the person your shooting at.

No weapon in this game behaves similairly to how they do in bf3. They all seem to lack any punch at medium range. Heck in bf3 you could equip a x6 scope on an M16 and outsnipe those with bolt actions or dmr's at crazy ranges.

The damage drop off is in single digit meters for a lot of the weapons which doesn't help there, long range seems very hit and miss in the game at the best of times except with sniper rifles anyhow - even taking bullet speed and target movement into account. Its like the further away objects are the less precision is used in the "netcode" almost (which actually is a thing in systems using area of relevance mechanics in their netcode but that should never be applied to other players).

A good example is on metro, the sliding doors at left entrance to the station, (ru side). In bf3 i could go through those doors, turn left and look towards the top of the escalator in ticket hall. Very easy to take someone out with a few shots with m416/aug, (my assault rifles of choice). Same part in bf4, sights on someones head, (m416 earlier) and lucky if you get a single shot registering. It seems as if the rounds are falling short of the target.

Yup, half the time I wonder where my bullets go....

Invisible walls/textures are the most annoying thing ever though, was soo annoying playing in the littlebird on dawnbreaker last night, like 4 guys and I couldn't hit a single one because of a force field...

Equip a laser sight and an acog on a sniper and play for a while watching the dot, not the scope.

Did it a bit today, and it's amazing how much it waves around right after ADS, and my hit/miss ratio seemed to suggest the dot was the reliable part.

Lol mockingbird, on that server earlier I was dragshotting people with the red dot on the GOL... if i tried it whilst scoped it would miss, if i used it no-scoped it would hit every time.

Popped onto a lockers cq round just now, lag was so bad it was unplayable. A rather dissapointing 2/10 k/d score. Shooting people at point blank range and no joy.

Conversely I just had a couple of rounds wherre the "netcode" was mostly ok, though the game was dicking me about a bit the second (mostly movement and a couple of times it compounded on my own screwsup to get me killed) and I got a bit frustrated and just started running around chancing it.

Been fine for me the last few days, no crashes etc. My old g15 keyboard finally packed in tonight so gonna have to borrow something basic to use for the next few days till i get my new mechanical one in.

Just ordered a new mouse and headset so hopefully by the end of the week I can get into this properly. Played about an hour so far and it's fun but it really seems like one of those games where you need to play with an organised team. Jumping into random servers with completely random players and hoping for any result other than getting butt ****ed is optimistic to say the least it seems. :D

I've got no mic of any kind so playing mostly without chat, the odd word in text chat but not much. In general I find if the squad I'm in is doing absolutely nothing sensible and not attacking points I'll just jump squads till I find one that seems organised. Using my handgun ammo to help out is useful. IE guy is running I shoot at his feet, he turns and I point to a quad bike, we get on it and go on a rampage. Surprising how much communication you can have with a few bullets into the ground to get peoples attention :p

Longer term I'm going to get a headset as "there is a guy with a shotgun just around the corner" is a pretty long message in morse code delivered by bullet ;)

People still game without headsets? Wtf the only reason I have my edifiers on my desk is to look nice.. can't remember last time I turned them on... nothing can beat a decent set of 150 quid plus cans and an STX

Currently have the computer in a nearby room on the end of long cable extensions for monitors and keyboard/mouse. Have some wireless headphones but not a good wired headset. Got an old broken down one but, 2x290's mining at 60% fan + £10 of extension cables makes me SOOO much happier. However I haven't really played online for probably several years really. I got really bored of CS:S years ago and never really got into anything else significant since then. I think at that stage after probably a decade of online fps's I was just a bit gamed out.

This is me getting back into it. So starting to think about a new headset, morse code till then.

My DR50's which were about £40 at the time and a Zonar DG card paired with a clip-on mic. is still better than any speaker setup for gaming I have ever tried.
