BF3 maps were designed around 12vs12 consoles. 8vs8 goes back to BF2 and beyond as far as I am aware. It means you have to be very tactical and while there are different skill levels, you have to be on top of your game at all times, no easy kills. Rogue Transmission Sml plays much better than Cnq Lge IMO
32vs32 battles also happen between communities eg Symthic vs FIST but the logistics of 32 players isn't easy. At Level Battlefield we put on a weekly 32vs32 tournament with some of the best players in the world, while some maps didn't work too well most played out really good. 32vs32 Karkand was possibly my favourite LVLBF map as the initial breakout / push is one hell of a rush.
