The BenQ EW2420: Too good to be true?

When I get mine delivered this week I'll record some footage dragging windows around, some call of duty, counterstrike and some blueray stuff.
Will clone the monitor with my TN panel next to it so you can compare.
Nice, thanks, that'll help a lot :)

ok i'll just go get the tripod out and see what i can do

anything in particular your wanting to see?
I don't know what camera settings you need, but could you try photographing the Prad box test?

Also, could you take a photo to show how deep the bezel is (and if there's any reflections)? Something similar to the angle shown below:

Thanks a lot.

Trying to catch up with this thread.

Would any one like me to do a better job capturing viewing angles? Or have any requests for other things? I will put up another video on youtube showing some stuff in motion.

I'm refunding mine and getting the Eizo Foris FS2311H as it uses a C-PVA panel and will have better screen unifmormity and motion, but it also costs 590$ vs the BenQ at 256$. I want a significant motion upgrade over my F2380MX but also want to retain the perfect scren unifmormity and excellent viewing angles.

There's also another good review of the BenQ VW version here

telling us how to do a better job of it would be a start lol

I'm making this up but IMO it's fairly logical

#1 Get a ruler and measure distance for pictures (I sit about 50cm away). You should probably take the picture from much further back and zoom in to avoid scan lines though

#2 Get a right angle triangle thing to measure what Degree your are taking the pictures from (30-45 degrees) when at an angle and document distance

#3 Set Camera to Manual if you can, ISO to 400, Colors Neutral or off and scene to Daylight. Expore of -1 to -2 should also yeild accurate results.

I made another video with motion, input lag and cloned my desktop to show a Minority Report 720p scene which has a lot of motion.

Regarding the blue corner tinge one thing I have noticed is if I sit 80+CM away it is no longer visible. It might actually just be a result of light reflection from me and back onto the bezel as the bezel is glossy. Not sure how far people sit from their panels but I may be sitting much closer then most people would. Colors are still obviously tinged blue next to a perfect calibrated panel, however sense most people wont be calibrating this really isnt going to matter.

where is the video

Christ, the price you pay for HD video I suppose. I thought you all had super fast Internet in America-land?

Thanks for going through all the trouble :)

I live in Canada and am very offended being compared to Americans:D

It's a 2.5gb file so it takes a while. Playing Lost Planet 2 at the same time doesnt help either

Haha apologies. Anything outside this country's borders is generally deemed "foreign" and lumped together.

Your Internet speeds aren't much better than mine, which is very surprising.

wow big ping you got there

It's likely because he's uploading that Youtube video whilst he did the speed test.

So would anyone recommend these for an Eyefinity setup over the Samsung B2430H or Samsung P2450H ? Im currently looking for 3 monitors which are all the same, also I can't find this online and in stock anywhere! :(

It's a great monitor in my opinion, but does depend on how demanding you are and what uses you have in mind. As a general all rounder in this price bracket, I don't think it can be beat.

If you like the look of it, the V2420 is in stock some places, and it's the same panel, just different aesthetics and slightly different connections.
