Why dont you try the 84.20 Xtreme-G version?

I did not like the unmodified version.

I have just downloaded these and when I try to install them it said cannot find compatible device?

whats going on?

Am i doing something wrong?

currently have beta 84.20's installed

You need to download english support inf file for 7900 and replace it before you install.

Would you say there would be any point in trying these over the standard 84.20's? Just noticed there are some Z-Tweaked varients at guru3d.com now. Wonder how the three types compare???? :)

These drivers are amazing. just installed and booted up bf2 as thats all i play nowadays and what an improvement. If i remember rightly i getting nearly 10fps more with these. Doubt i'll order that 1900xt today, Good find :p

I'm having real issues with drivers at the sec :(

got a BFG 7900 Oc yesterday (675mhz), have tried the drivers that came with it (83.20 i think), the 84.20 betas from nvidia, and boths sets of tweaked drivers on this thread. I've been playing BF2 and i get nothing but texture corruption - its doing my head in

screent below is an example - and thats at 800*600 at medium and with NO filtering  can't be overheating becaus its only at 43 degrees when i check.

Anyone else got a 7900 gtx? what drivers are you using?

Cheers

MC

Hi,
I,ve issues too.I first downloaded the international ones, when I installed them it said they wer'nt certified and when I continued anyway the lower half of the screen is all blurred, corrupt and also they did'nt seem to install as smoothly as normal ( long pauses etc).I though I probably had a bad driver, so I down loaded the english. US ones, these caused the same problem only worse(?) so I have gone back to 81.98. :(

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you lower the core clock speed on the card? Can you see if that fixes the problem? Try lowering it by about 20-30Mhz just as a test.... may not be the drivers but the card itself. :(

yeah just downloaded these, will try them on bf2 later on!
Euro forces screwed up for me thow :( wouldnt let me buy it, think the page was bugged, as it was always asking for the issue number even thow i was giving it.  Is it comeing out in the shops at all?

Edit:
Also whats that commad you put in console to show FPS in bf2? I forgot :o

I returned my £480 XFX XXX 7900 due to corruption (white sparklies) in the CS:Source HDR map (militia?) - it was the only place i noticed it but clearly a defective card.

If you ask me the memory used on the pre-overclocked cards is not being tested thoroughly enough, I would suggest all owners of 7900's run the above map for about 10mins and keep an eye out on the walls in the underground tunnel for sparklies. i run it 1680*1050, 4x aa, 16xaf and after 5mins or so of playing the sparklies would start to appear.

back to 7800GXT256 i go (again).
