Dune 2 because it started it all. Starcraft moved it on and after that Im not sure.

C&C Generals Zero Hour - I still play it online once a week, since launch. That's the longest I've ever played any RTS game, and i'm still not getting bored with it!! (always new tactics and strategies to learn from playing semi's and pro's online!!!)

Starcraft for the oldschool goodness and storyline
Act of War/High Treason as a criminally overlooked RTS with interesting units and killer (if slightly gung-ho US styley) story.
FYI, HW2 with the old style PDS mod installed, on an 8 player map with the unit caps edited up can still cripple my computer sometimes. (C2D/2gb/X1900XT) Watching two Vagyr super heavy battleships with support fleet looping down from above and rip apart a higarian fleet in seconds is about the most awe inspiring thing I've ever seen. Black Rose!

Is there a chanse of makign this thread a poll, adiing games such as:

Meh, I liked it anyways
C&C1 was superb, RA1 & 2 also excellent. CofH is the best I've played recently... C&C3 Demo is looking pretty good too, probably going to be my next purchase

Personally I like MTW2. I am not a big fan of resource gathering games as it feels like I am just racing to build stuff faster than the other guy. In total war I get to focus on the battle and tactics. (though admittedly the game still needs a patch or two.)
Also it is so pretty, especially when you zoom right in and see the fighting troops.
