The best starting 11 in the world, what's yours?

Buffon (Juventus)

Ramos (Real Madrid)
Ferdinand (Man Utd)
Puyol (Barcelona)
Evra (Man Utd)

Ronaldo (Man Utd)
Pirlo (AC Milan)
Xavi (Barcelona)
Messi (Barcelona)

Kaka (AC Milan)
Eto (Barcelona)

Pretty attack minded, but I follow the philosophy of score more than your opponent. :p

G. Buffon

D. Alves | C. Puyol | R. Ferdinand | P. Lahm

C. Ronaldo | S. Gerrard | J. Mascherano | Kaka

L. Messi | F. Torres

You can pick the best starting XI in terms of individual ability and in that case perhaps I may have made 1 or 2 changes, but I personally think the above players would make up the best 'team' in the world.

Why do people keep putting Alves at left back when he's a right back?!?

EDIT : This post is in relation to toon_mad and KaneStatton's posts. Not the one above

and maybe that guy over there too.

I think it's important to have a big squad because when the first team don't perform you can always rely on the likes of Styles, Webb and Riley to pull out a bit of magic to help secure 3 points. ;)

GK: Buffon - Without doubt still the best keeper in the world

RB: Bosingwa - Tough one as I cant say anyone really stands out
CB: Ferdinand - Just a pure class defender
CB: Vidic - Monster
LB: Evra - I thought those who rated Clichy over Evra was bad enough but I cannot believe the amount of votes for Ashley Cole in this thread

RM: Ronaldo - BPITW
CM: Carrick - My UTD bias is obvious here but I see him week in week out and his range of passing and ability to control the midfield area has been evident over the past 3 seasons at UTD
CM: Xavi - Just a class little player
LM: Messi - 2nd BPITW

CF: Torres - Not many really top draw strikers around these days (not like when Ruud and Henry were at their peak) but he's probably the best around at the moment
CF: Drogba - On his day he's unplayable, just not showing it these days as his heart obviously aint at Chelsea anymore

----Villa----Berbatov----

----Ronaldo----Xavi----Kaka----Messi

----Evra----Ferdinand----Vidic----Alves----

----Van Der Sar----

Heavily infleunced by Man Utd I know, but there defence is just too good.

Well instead of doing a predictable best 11, i decided to do the worst 11

-----Carson-----

--O'Shea--Bramble--Traore--Boumsong--

--Eboue--Djemba Djemba--Barton--Fortune--

---Bendtner---Kezman----

Casillas - Imo Best Keeper In The World

Evra - Fastest Left back in the world? his pace is immense and his runs, woaw.
Vidic - Nobody gets past the serb :p
Ferdinand - Pure Class
Sergio Ramos - Need I Say More?

Messi - Second best winger in the world
Carrick - Pure Playmaking Genius (master of passing)
Fabregas - Same as above
Ronaldo - Best In The World.

Villa - Talented Player
Rooney - Young Delightful Piece Of Magic

Very similair to my Fifa 09 Manager Mode Team :p

Bored, so I guess I'll take a shot at this. Maybe something like this..

__________________Buffon

Alves______Ferdinand______Vidic______Evra

___________Senna___________Xavi

__________________Riquelme

Messi_______________________________Ronaldo

__________________Drogba

Goalkeeping position was between Buffon and Casillas. Easily the two best goalkeepers in the world and really it could have gone either way.

It's abit of a myth that Alves can't defend, and you can't argue with what he brings to the team offensively. It's amazing. Sensational footballer, seems abit of a moron though. Left back was an easy choice. Evra has been brilliant for Man U. Solid both defensively and going forward. Clichy might have made this decision a little harder on last season's form but he's been pretty poor this season and isn't as good as Evra going forward. No mention of Abidal, please. Ferdinand and Vidic is straight forward really. They make up the best CB partnership in the Premiership and probably the world too. They compliment eachother brilliantly.

I was tempted to go with Mascherano for the DM position but chose Senna in the end. The guy is a beast and, believe it or not, I rated him very highly before the Euro. Glad he's getting the recognition now, he deserves it. A master of that position, second only to (a younger) Makelele in recent times. Xavi needs absolutely no explanation. Should make everyone's team easily. Ahead of those pair I've got Riquelme who I think is an absolute genius. A questionable mentality sure, but his footballing ability is in no doubt. A wizard on the ball and an array of passing that is a joy to watch. Scholes, Pirlo and Fabregas are brilliant passers - Riquelme is on another level. Definitely one of my favourite players of all time.

Messi and Ronaldo, again, no explanation needed. The two best wide players in the world currently and again, should be making everyone's team. And upfront I've got Drogba, who, when happy, settled and fit, is the best striker in the world for me. A total handful. I've seen him physically dominant the best and biggest of CBs, including the two I've got in my team.
