The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Well there's a draft in three weeks where all the wrestlers from each show are changed so it will have a fresher feel to it, but generally yes. Though Rey Mysterio is set to come back soon and he should be in the title picture.

I prefere the good old days when there was no brand division. WWE changed a lot in the last 8 or 9 years that I've been watching

So, anyone gonna try for the million dollars next week?

It just bothered me as Cena had the injury, came back, and challenged Orton, which was fair enough. He had the match, he lost.

Why not give Jeff a go? Even if he doesn't beat Triple H, at least it'll have been something different.

I'm guessing after NOC the main contender will be either JBL, or Orton. Again.

Probably too soon for Jeff since he had the 60-day suspension. WWE will probably want to see his progress in keeping clean before pushing him again.

Even so, there are more than 4 wrestlers on the RAW roster as far as I know.

If it ends up PPV then me ordering it is going to depend on the SD lineup.

I'm more looking forward to the WWE Vintage Collection show starting this Sunday at 10am than any PPV or Raw show coming up soon.

The 90s and very early 2000s were the best.

Since post 2001/2002 WWE has become very, very boring.

WWE really need to sort themselves out. Giving a few fans money does not satisfy the watching fans at home. We want decent storylines and not the same old Cena/HHH/Orton pap!!!!!

This whole 1 million thing just shows how desperate wwe are getting. Its really quite sad to be honest. I wouldn't be surpirsed if RAW becomes one of those call in quiz shows.

I'd really like to see wwe get gritty and edgy again like in the atitude era, it now feels like a damn teen pop show.

well they have been hitting high 2s for ratings for RAW. i expect that for a good SD show.

its horrible. after WM24, the ratings have plumeted, and this is the measures they have to take to get it better.

but a good thing is international ratings are going up, as more countries are making deals with the WWE.

Wow, have they really dropped to high 2s for RAW now? I remember when they were making a big deal about slipping underneath 4.

The stupid thing is, they insist on trying to improve their ratings by pretty much carrying on exactly how they are, just throwing a new gimmick in here or there.

IICR last week it went to 2.8

i was shocked.

tbh raw is the flash, and sd/ecw is the wrestling side of things.

they should be incorporating better writers, rather than more gimicks.
gimmicks sold in the attitude error, where ratings were in the high 7-8s. with the monday night wars.

that was golden age. now you have the same old thing, with gimmicks being re-used, and plots being done again and again.

all the veiwers they gained 10 years ago, will have grown up, into very late teens early 20s. they will not be watching for the gimmicks anymore, but more for the story, and the actually wrestling.

its why people like CM-PUNK wont be pushed hard (i mean he won the MITB, and then lost 4 weeks in a row after that, what a way to book a title contender(!)) but people like snitsky will (or was).

with orton is was refreshing for cena/hhh not being there. and im sure orton jeff could have gone far. but ok, jeff bought his own downfall, then giving regal was a very good idea, as he is a hard worker, good wrestler, and absolutely birlliant on the stick, but then, he also dropped.

now (i havent watched RAW or read about it yet, as on saturday i will be watching ONS on my sky+) they will have the old cena/hhh im sure, id love to see jericho and regal going against each other, firstly their matched would be nothing short of brilliant, and they mic work would be the best they (WWE) have produced in years.

taker, is growing stale, and really shouldnt have gone back to the deadman gimmick, but undoublty he gets thebiggest pops, and is the biggest draw for SD. he needs somethign new, but edge is superb, and should be champion, he works much better being the champ than chasing. and vikkie is workign superb, drawing so much heat, no one can match it. she can even speak withthe boos going around.

getting over with the fans means getting a reaction. she gets the biggest.

Cena, we have missed, yes he was getting old, but he is the biggest merchanise seller. its not his fault he is being resricted to the wrestling he does, its likhe the rock, who also had a few moves, but he had two hand fulls, vs cena one handfull. see his work as the prototype, or when he was on SD in the US title scene, he was a much better wrestler. but thats not his fault.

the WWE need to stop showing us stale product, and give us somthing WORTH watching.

rant over :)

Cena and the likes are all great for getting the crowd going.

Would have loved to have seen Cena vs Austin or The Rock and a storyline to go with it.

Likewise with Edge, very good performer and intelligent guy, underated at the WWE I think.

They need better storylines and push new talent into the top 3 of Cena/HHH/Orton.

Not sure that the 'Taker is going stale. He can still draw the crowds althugh when he entered pro wrestling in 1991 I was still at school and his image has changed a few times.

33 and a closet 'Taker fan ..... * shame *

no shame m8. but im glad he is going away for a bit to rest his injuries.

its just liek before when tripple H took 8 months out (before the injury) after he finshed with tista. it was needed as he had gottne stale, the he came back, and we had missed him.

thats *** taker needs right now. i did say hes the biggest SD draw. and im sure its jsut cena and HBK that can draw over him, but we need the stale gone. it was a refresh w.o cena aswell. i was glad he was injured, it help him, esp coming back at RR. that was astonishing, as the same week he was saying another 5 months left.

HHH took 8 months off in 2005? I can't remember him being away that long.

after the hell in a cell against batista, he took off till the first 3 hour RAW. may not have been 8 months, probably 4, but it was a very welcome relief, and when he came back, he was wanted by the fans, and turned face.
