The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Hadn't tuned in for a while but I'd been keeping up with it through various dirt sheets. Just watched Monday's RAW - Bryan is so over it's unbelievable.

I really don't understand why Bryan is the biggest thing in wwe right now. He has no mic skills, is small and doesn't have the look. Great wrestler and performer however.

Why is he so popular? Underdog? His history? His chant? His beard?

I don't really think his history(assuming you mean indies etc) really means much to most of his fans today. I would suspect spot of people would be unaware of Bryan Danielson back in ROH. I think about of it spawned from him and Kane as a tag team. I really didn't think it would work but then they did the whole of couple thing and it was genuinely funny so people really warmed to Bryan. Then he also had the whole everyman look going for him and is an underdog aswell. It's a combination of a number of things in my opinion. His chant is also helping him as I can't remember the last time a chant took of like this in recent times.

No not like it was on raw I'm pretty sure but what stayed after Austin was done. I don't see the yes/no chants staying after Bryan. Could be wrong though

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

I think being buried at Wrestlemania by Sheamus was the catalyst to his rise. The Yes chant took off and he's a great in ring worker. It also feels like a real underdog story with the Mcmahans trying to bury him at every turn

Please do not let Batista win the rumble.

Rumors for the Day:

As it stands right now, Batista is going to win the Royal Rumble. It's at least possible that CM Punk lasts all the way until the end before some Authority related shenanigans lead to his getting ousted, pushing two separate storylines along: Punk leading to his match with Triple H at WrestleMania 30 and Randy Orton getting even more paranoid thinking The Authority assisted Batista's victory.
Sheamus is not currently scheduled to return in the Rumble match, though it's still possible WWE is just keeping a tight lid on the plans for him. There will need to be a legitimate threat to win the Rumble match outside of Batista and Sheamus could be used in that role as a late entrant who isn't asked to do much.
For those hoping he would pull double duty, it doesn't look like Daniel Bryan will be entering the Royal Rumble. Sorry!
Actually, Bryan is scheduled to team with John Cena to work some 2-on-3 handicap matches following the Rumble event. That seems to indicate Randy Orton will win the WWE world heavyweight championship match and go on to feud with Batista over the title.
Roddy Piper basically confirmed to Stone Cold Steve Austin in a recent interview that WWE is, in fact, hoping to put together a match involving himself and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 30. Read more on that by clicking here.

Hogan vs Piper at Mania? No, just no. That sounds like an awful idea.

I only want to know who Taker is facing.

I think it would be more of a suprise for Batista not to win the rumble and go on to win the belt at mania. Punk lasting till the end and getting screwed makes sense. Can't see hogan v piper but the was rumours of a 6 man tag with Cena a while back

I wouldnt mind seeing Hogan and co in a tag match, would be interesting!

As I've said before I'll be amazed of the title match is anything other than Orton v Batista.

I'm not sure how Bryan Sheamus is going to be set up but itll be a fun match.

I agree with you, though think wwe are making a mistake not to have Bryan or Punk headlining. Bryan is so over with the crowd and to see 80000 people chanting Yes at the end of the night would be some finish. Punk isn't going to be around for too much longer and as yet has never headlined WM so now would be as good a time as any to give that to him.

Shame there isn't still 2 belts. If so I would have:

Bryan v Punk or Cena for the wwe belt

Orton v Batista for the heavyweight and to settle old evolution scores.

Undercard:

Taker v Lesnar for the streak

Wyatts v Shield

Cody v Goldust

MITB ladder match:

Barrett, Sandow, Ziggler, Kofi, Fandango, Miz, Sheamus etc

The thing is regardless where Bryan is on the card we are probably still going to get 80000 people chanting just as long as he is booked in a decent storyline. I agree Bryan should be chasing the belt though a rumble win would have been excellent for his underdog style.

I don't know (or care) what taker will do at mania. There's nothing seeming obvious other than lesnar guess it depends if taker is up to the physicality of lesnar. Also means I just have 1 match to ignore ha.

I'd be interested in having Sandow in a singles match against a decent upper card face and getting a win. Possibly Christian?

Also agree with you MitB should return to mania.

Great to see Jake back. He looks a different man. Maximum respect to DDP for what he's done with Jake.

Just got to hope he keeps it together now.

Check the difference between his last RAW appearance in 2005 and this years return, 9 years later. Quite incredible!
