The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Don't know what WWE had against Sandow, guy seemed over as hell most of the time yet just couldn't catch a break. When he turned against the Miz he could have been pushed to the moon yet they just killed the storyline stone dead.

The others have been circling the plughole for years (well maybe not Zeb but they didn't have a clue what to do with him as that stupid MexAmerica showed!) no surprise they've gone.

Gutted about Sandow. Made the best of every situation he was put in. Great in the mic, solid in the ring. Always popular. He was unlucky with the whole Hogan situation.

Also, though it was obviously coming. Really disappointed Barrett has actually gone.

add me to the list of people really upset about Sandow and Barrett. BNB was massively over, yet when he came back he was dumped to some jobber role for no reason and as others said Sandow had much the same
:-(

I just skimmed through Extreme Rules. The Intercontinental Fatal fourway is insanely brilliant... But a usual, featured everyone's least favourite outcome!

Shame in the last month we've lost Ryback, Barrett, Sandow and Rhodes!

Main event was boring and predictable. Styles doing all the work, chair shots, finishers, shooting Reigns point blank in the face with a rocket launcher...Reigns kicks out and wins. With the way it ended though hopefully it will change hands soon

Also, that is the most vocal I have ever heard the crowd against Reigns.

Jericho looked in a ton of pain after that powerbomb onto the tacks

Can't imagine how much more painful going face first is!

Fatal 4way stole the show as anticipated. Though surprised with the outcome.

Main event was decent though AJ carried Reigns again. I've got no problem with the outcome but with the superman punch would be used a little less. So boring...

Marked out at the end of the show though. Looking forward to Raw tonight

Zayn, Cesaro, Jericho, Owens and Ambrose qualified for MITB...should be great. Hoping it leads to Reigns vs Rollins at Summerslam or whenever with Ambrose holding MITB!

Its getting stupid now, what is it those Oulaws that terrible group of nobody guys still with the WWe, but Rybck etc get released?

This isn't down to guys being good enough, this is down to terrible writing, look at how over Ziggler was, and they let that just walk past them and now have him jobbing.

A SmackDown shakeup is about to completely reshape all of WWE. Beginning July 19, the second longest-running weekly episodic program in television history, SmackDown, will move from Thursday to Tuesday nights and air LIVE each and every week — for the first time ever — at 8/7 C on USA Network, the exclusive cable home to WWE’s marquee properties.

This bold move will have major ramifications for all of WWE and exemplify the New Era, as both Raw and SmackDown will each feature their own unique rosters and rivalries following an imminent Superstar draft.

"WWE's flagship programs will both leverage the incredible depth of our talent roster, distinct storylines and the unpredictable nature of live TV," WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon said. “This move will undoubtedly build more excitement and deepen engagement with our fans around th█e world.”

With so many explosive competitors emerging from WWE NXT, and top Superstars like John Cena and Seth Rollins returning from injury, WWE’s star-powered roster has never been stronger. Its historic division and the monumental revelation of SmackDown’s shift to a live format each week reflect the excitement and unpredictability of WWE’s New Era.

What awaits SmackDown on its new night, starting this July? Which live shows will claim your favorite Superstars? What will this all mean for the future of sports-entertainment? Stay tuned as WWE prepares to get shaken up like never before.

Dumb move imo, raw is already too long at 3 hours, now you're gonna get 2 more hours of essentially the same thing the following night.

Smackdown used to be a gem of a show, now it's just a Raw recap, total travesty. i tape it and watch it later, usually zip through it in under and hour cos i seemt o be constantly FFWDing through stuff i've already seen. really get narked at them boldly calling stuff "Raw exclusive!" - well if it's on SD too it's not exclusive, is it?!

The real problem with "wrasslin" now? There's just far too much of it, you've got Raw, Smackdown, NXT, you've got the network you've got a PPV every month.

In the 80's and early 980's a ppv was something special as there was only 4 per year, now they're nothing but a Raw or Smackdown with a different set and occasionally the odd gimmicky match to differentiate it. There's also the fact that pretty much everyone on the planet (bar a few inbred rednecks) knows the exact ins and outs of wrestling so people don't care about it as much as they did when people were still 50/50 about what exactly was going on.

Just look on youtube for "Jim Cornette wrestling is dead" and he goes into far more detail on it in a 27 minute video.

The roster just doesn't seem overflowing with talent these days. Could anyone come up with a well balanced roster for each? My guess is they're going to start accelerating NXT talent to the main roster to bulk them out.

My main hope is that they'll go back to brand exclusive PPVs to A) make them seem more meaningful and B) protect the talent that's taking such a massive beating lately. One live event a week and a PPV every 2 months should be much better for the body than potentially 2 live shows a week and a PPV every month where matches often reach 20-30 minutes long, along with the numerous house shows.
