In the 80's and early 980's a ppv was something special as there was only 4 per year, now they're nothing but a Raw or Smackdown with a different set and occasionally the odd gimmicky match to differentiate it. There's also the fact that pretty much everyone on the planet (bar a few inbred rednecks) knows the exact ins and outs of wrestling so people don't care about it as much as they did when people were still 50/50 about what exactly was going on.

Just look on youtube for "Jim Cornette wrestling is dead" and he goes into far more detail on it in a 27 minute video.

One brand featuring Owens, Cesaro, Styles, Balor, Zayn, Ambrose, Rollins, Ziggler, Neville and all of the other indy darlings. The other featuring just an extended program of Reigns vs Cena with every show being 3 hours of them kicking out of each other's finishers!....Actually, you can stick Kane, Big Show and Mark Henry on that one too.

That's pretty much what separates a ppv from raw or smackdown, on a ppv a finisher kickout is guaranteed in the main events, yet put the same 2 in a match on raw and whoever hits their first normally wins. WWE is so formulaic its just stale, why is it when a heel is addressing the crowd we inevitably get the "each......and.....every......one......of you" spiel trotted out monotonously? I mean just about every ****ing "bad guy" uses this line and moron writers are being paid to script that time and time again and apparently nobody has noticed yet?

Just a lot of crap these days imo. I generally just watch the 4 main ppv's from years back (rumble\mania\sslam\series) and don't bother much with the rest, see highlights and 99% of the time i missed nothing of note.
 
Very tempted to make next years Wrestlemania my first Wrestlemania that I've attended in person... but really not looking forward to the prospect of Reigns vs. Cena as a main event :(
 
Rumour mill says Reigns to headline RAW, Cena to headline Smackdown.

Guess I'll watch Smackdown! Cena has earned my respect from last years US Title run!
 
Was watching a playback of a match with Ryback and Kulisko ( sp?)...Ryback bounced up to save the guys carrier and caught him before landing on his head.

lol..Reign's on Raw?...arnt they already loosing viewership?...would be so funny if Smack down became the No1 in terms of how many tune in to watch it cause Cena is just better.
 
Reigns is getting a Cena like reaction now with more Boo's than cheers, no idea why they didn't turn Rollins face on his comeback.
 
I'm all for more British wrestling but I'm more excited about NGW and ICW gettin on Fight Network tbh, especially if they keep up their occasional co-promoted events.
 
I thought it was a good heel turn by AJ. But you have to wonder why they have turned someone who was getting the biggest pops.

Was it me or did it look like Rollins was limping? I just didn't look like he was moving naturally
 
Just hope cena has left his shovel at home.

Crowd muting is getting a bit silly with reigns, doubt itll change whatever they do with him...short of sending him to developmental.
