The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

So at Mania then

WWE Championship: Triple H v Randy Orton
World Heavyweight Championship: Edge v John Cena
The Undertaker v Shawn Michaels

Obviously the two title matches have been done to death in the past but they should still be enjoyable contests, I reckon Triple H will be drafted back to Raw with Cena going the opposite way to Smackdown

Thought Raw was a pretty good episode. Steph sold the RKO well also :D

Good to see Shane get punted so we don't have to watch his awful boxing either!

Bit of Christian news:

SmackDown writer Michael Hayes originally came up with the idea of Christian Cage doing all the sneak attacks on Jeff Hardy to be revealed at the Royal Rumble. As time went on and people figured that Christian was behind it, and/or Hayes realized how Vince felt about Christian, he approached Vince with the idea of giving the role to Matt Hardy. Hayes sold the idea on the fact that Matt vs. Jeff would be a bigger surprise and bigger draw than Jeff vs. Christian, and Vince agreed with him.

John Laurinaitis had been pushing to do something with Christian sooner, rather than have him sit and wait until April. While all the talk about his return was going on, Vince started to sour on Christian. Back in 2005, whenever ideas were brought up for Christian, Vince always nixed them and only saw Cage as an upper midcarder. Vince even said in meetings that Christian had no star aura about him and that his head shot promotional photo was one of the worse he had ever seen.

RAW writer Brian Gewirtz asked about bringing him to RAW after Matt got the spot on SmackDown, but there was concern he would end up like D-Lo Brown - just hired and forgot about without getting a chance. They came up with the idea to give him a new feud with someone Vince is high on, that being Jack Swagger. They felt the longer they didn’t get him on TV, the more likely he’d end up never to get going and this was the best thing they had for him. The original idea for the ECW show had the same opener with the two but several segments were planned that showed Christian meeting the talent on the brand and putting him over like it was a big thing he was there.

The actual match was booked to be a short sprint for him to shine some more, ending with Swagger getting counted out or some crazy no contest. Vince ended up changing the show to what it ended up being. It was seen internally as Vince having no vision of Christian as a star.

Vince imo seriously needs to step down, he's so out of touch with what people want its not even funny anymore.

He lets personal grudges get in the way of money making storylines and bringing in wrestlers people would actually tune in to watch.

Yea, its been like this for years now. He should get out of the spotlight and let somebody else make the important decisions. PG WWE was also another terrible mistake.

I don't see what his problem is with Christian though, he's never put a foot wrong and left on good terms and showed in TNA he can carry the strap.

Just watching Raw and wondering where this Jericho berating the legends is going? He's surely going to face off against one of them at Mania, will it be Hogan? Austin? Flair? Rouke?

God I hope it's Stone Cold!

wont be hogan, wont be austin, wont be rouke, flair imo is the best bet what id prefer to see though is legacy vs legends that would be awesome

Apparently, Cena is going to face Hogan at WM and that's why they are delaying the whole Edge v Cena situation as Hogan v Cena is still in the balance.

That's rubbish, it's obvious it's rubbish as the backup angle for Edge is 'apparently' v The Big Show, hardly a match or feud worthy of a leading spot at Wrestlemania

There's no doubt that it'll be Cena v Edge which IMO would be fitting as along with Triple H v Orton both have been some of the best World Title feuds in recent memory and with this being the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania seems fitting that both are being renewed for the occasion
