The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

This is some entrance! His stock has risen so much since going Solo and his Yeet movement has gained so much traction.

Agreed, the Yeet gimmick drove me nuts at first, but it's definitely growing on me. He seems to have taken to his solo run quite well.

Belair-Stratton was a banger. Orton-Hayes was a banger (and that RKO was smooth as butter). Cargill losing a QOTR match via a completely optional, self-inflicted DQ is absolute GARBAGE.

What a great SD. Caught up last night. PLE weekend coming up. I'll be away so won't be able to see it but will have to make do with the highlights.

I've been expecting a Gunther KOTR win since the beginning, so no surprise he beat Jey - but for some reason didn't expect a submission. Now they've stipulated that the winners will each get a title shot at SummerSlam, I'm expecting Lyra will win and end up going after Becky (probably turning heel in the process). Good RAW overall.

In the past week or so WWE have released much better and less disjointed extended highlights from RAW and SD.

That was a short PPV only 5 matches, if I had bought a ticket I would feel a bit short changed. Most of the matches were pretty good but the women's tag match match was a bit brutal, a certain someone needs to spend a bit more time in the performance centre ans less time on holiday and socialising. If that sounds harsh just remember that person skipped the to the front of queue of other talented women who could have got this push and only had a handful of short matches under their belt.

5 - 6 match PPV/PLE cards have been fairly standard under HHH's booking going back to NXT Black and Gold. I actually prefer it - a few matches that are given time to breathe as opposed to rapid fire 12 matches in 4 hours. To each their own of course, though :)

Some of the matches last night had some suspect spots but mostly I feel sorry for Damien Priest. Probably done that move hundreds of times but when it bites....that was scary looking.

Apparently there was a technical issue with the top rope being loose which was causing the wrestlers to become unbalanced.

I realise this might sound hyperbolic, but after years of evidence, culminating with Friday's Smackdown, I'm ready to say it: Paul Heyman is probably be the greatest talent in WWE, maybe all of professional wrestling.

Wrestlemania XL: Behind the Curtain has appeared on Youtube and it's quite interesting watching the behind the scenes back and forward on setting the main events up - Rhodes seemingly genuinely upset and it looks like a swap to Rock vs Roman was legitimately on the cards initially.
