The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

I feel bad for Dakota Kai, she's just got back from a major injury appeared a few times on TV and then seemingly got benched.

Most of those names aren't a surprise especially Brian Strowman, he's a shadow of his 2020 peak. Pretty obvious after the beating he took from Jacob Fatu he was firmly now just enhancement talent. Cora Jade is a surprise though, I thought she would be one of the new crop of talented women coming up from NXT.
Yeah I feel bad for Dakota as well.
Braun Strowman people say he hasn't been the same, some say its to do with his knee.
The problem with NXT is they are stacked with female talents and from the matches i've seen with Cora shes more caring about her implants exploding than her wrestling. I hear people say she was a lot better as a performer when she didn't have it and also before she got injured.

But the raw mid-card division looking very thin at the moment, all they have left that is currently active is Lyra, Maxxinee, Zoe stark, Ivy Niles and Raquel.
While Smackdown has: Zelena, Chelsea, B-fab, Michin, Alba, Piper, Candice and Nikki Cross

Of course it seems like Giulia, Roxanne and potentially Stephanie are getting pushed to Raw soon which again..I can see maybe all 3 floating between competing for both belts.
But Asuka and Kairi are coming back soon too which no doubt Asuka will want the women title and not intercontinental. Maybe Kairi will finally get a push to float as well?

Several more have been released namely NXT people. This is the current list, I would expect this list to get longer over the weekend:

Kayden Carter
Dakota Kai
Braun Strowman
Shayna Baszler
Katana Chance
Cora Jade
Gigi Dolan
Eddy Thorpe
Jakara Jackson
Riley Osborne
Javier Bernal
Oro Mensah
Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang)

Okay, riddle this. They have a monster in Strowman who is featured on TV and in the US title program and they cut him but they have Omos who hasn't been on TV for over a year and they keep him employed and is barely used?!?

Jarakra Jackson is another head scratcher, how do you release her and not Lash Legend (dumb name btw) who has improved over the last 12 months but isn't anywhere near as capable in the ring as Jarakra not to mention nowhere near as hot.

I bet Shawn Michaels is feeling pretty gutted right now seeing a lot of these cuts have fallen on his roster.

Honestly I partially blame TKO or WWE or whoever in creative thought to introduce "reality" TV programme to bring in "new" potential talents like Evolve and that "legend" show or whatever it's called.
They have now also introduced WWE ID thing to potentially recruit more new talent.
They are just "stacked" with talents they just don't know what to do with them.
Strowman i'm sure will probably do 1 more run with WWE if he is actually injured.
They ruined the women tag division by unifying them so its only 1 belt, they have practically taken out all the actual women tag division too like Gigi, Jakara and Katana. So now its just single competitors filling the gaps.

To be fair WWE isn't hot on tag wrestling as a concept it seems, I mean they had the wrong world title match at Mania and should have had that TLC match that was held on the following Smackdown.

Apparently that is to do with clash of titan app promo or something, which is of course them using the war raiders. Saying that though Raw tag division in general is looking very weak in comparison to Smackdown.
Raw tag division:
The new day
War raiders
Judgment day(probably will disband)
Tyler bate + Pete dunne (had one show and lost after Tyler bate return)
Alpha academy( doing nothing, potentially disband with the return of rusev)
American made (most potential)
LWO(again doing nothing)

Smackdown:
The Street profits
Pretty deadly
MCMG
Pretty deadly
DIY
Fraxiom (recently moved up)
Legado

The TLC match on smackdown was fun watch though for sure and it should have been in Wrestlemania.

WWE owning Evolve and now AAA, lot of bloat and no idea what to do with it I guess.

Braun and Dakota I guess are seen as too injury prone and the NXT roster if they don't see them as ever being "main roster" worthy eventually I guess have to be shuffled on as part of the business plan to let the next round of potentials cycle through.

Well I wonder if we will see the infamous Alberto dellll Rio again as he is part of AAA and he is their current champion.
Post Wrestlemania shows is showing to be a lot better than Wrestlemania itself.

RIP Sabu

That match he had the other week at on mania weekend was a right train wreck hope that didn’t bump he took didn’t cause anything.

I enjoyed backlash, Orton and Cena match was good.

We all knew the result would be what it was (not that i wanted that!) but the match was good very much old orton and Cena. Far better than the crap show Cena and Cody was.

Dom and Penta was good as well, nice dom isn’t booed entirely now so he may get to speak again soon in the ring anyway ha

The Cena heel turn is honestly very meh. Its like a grumpy version of the character at best. Even his promos are just grumpy, not scathing as you would expect. I wonder what the plan was originally before the rock got wind of the heel turn and had to insert himself into the part of the storyline that would get the most attention (and views), before he vanished yet again. All the teases about a mania appearance that never happened either.

I actually found Cena vs Orton match quite boring in the first 5-10 minutes, started nodding off as it was like watching 2x 60 year old out of shape men wrestle.
It was better than Cena vs Cody match at Wrestlemania though.

At this point I feel like Cena "heel" run is sort of like Kevin Owens or Drew McIntyre but with 20+ year origin story built up. Spitting "facts" from his past experience and then throwing it back at the audience.

Well welcome back to Kairi, very unfortunetate for Zoey I have absolutely 0 clue why she went for the drop kick when Kairi wasn't even close in range.
She is out injured again injuring the same leg, no doubt she might be next to get released or she will announce "retirement" from wrestling.

So WWE have pulled Wrestlemania 42 from New Orleans and it's going to be in Las Vegas again.

I assume Vegas made them an offer they couldn't refuse, but have they ever produced a Wrestlemania in the same city twice in a row (other than COVID)

Big boy Codey is back after SNME, honestly I find the SNME a bit of a waste of time to watch on stream/TV/PLE. 30 mins of its run time is just commerical breaks and the matches all feel semi-rushed which I guess it isn't a bad thing but the main event was like 5 minutes long which...what is the point of it.
