The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

None of the big stars seem to be up for it any more due to the PG issue. They can't sell injuries and damage the cage does because they can't use blood. The same reason why they do not get on the top of the cage, it is not child friendly to throw people off the top.

From what I read the crowd seemed to be all over Orton and actually booing Cena. Cena just can't seem to act at all. One minute he is catatonic the next he clears the ring.

Just finished watching HIAC.
I only just started watching WWE again after a 8 year break the other week at breaking point.

breaking point was good I enjoyed it but HIAC was quite boring.
As other have said they didnt really use the HIAC to its full extent. I thought the DX match was going to end up on top of the cell at least when it started but no it was just a bit of ruff and tumble outside.
The match was the best of the night IMO but that isnt saying much

I do have a question ... why was there a razor blade in the Cena vs Orton match given the fact that WWE don't do blood anymore?

And the Batista + Rey vs Y2Show wasn't that bad really, Morrison and Ziggler worked a pretty decent match too once they stopped with the matt-play.

The stupid kid in the Orton vs Cena match annoyed me to hell, most of the crowd is booing Cena ... and then we have to listen to this cretin of a kid having a go at Orton.
Gotta love the gesture Orton gave to the crowd after the stair throwing :D

what a let down for raw :( i thought rock as hosting it this week then i see its some random american football guy. managed to watch it in 20 mins.

i think cena will be going to smackdown, i cant see him winning the ironman match v orton.

wwe needs jeff hardy back, atleast he pulled off big moves in the ppvs.

The last thing WWE needs is Jeff Hardy back. They need to get out of the stupid PG era and start on the road to recovery.

HIAC was an average PPV at best, glad Orton got the strap back and Cena got boo'd much more than i thought he would.

The only guys to make real use of the HIAC were Legacy and DX tbh, Micheals back bounced off it enough times :D

RAW was a poor effort also, was waiting throughout the whole main event for Legacy to rush in and ambush DX then run off quickly so the "guest host" couldn't catch them. Also on the point of guest hosts, are they running that thin they have to get a sportsperson that nobody outside of America that doesn't follow their sports knows who the hell he is?!

WWE is really dying atm, the last thing I would want to see is an iron man match between Cena and Orton. Cena can't even wrestle in a normal match, with him insisting he has to roll around feiging an injury then 'Super Cena' comes. So this match to me sounds terrible. At least Orton can wrestle. Raw is really missing the good storyline, the days of Angles affair with Stephanie where golden, now we get stupid guest hosts, hosting a boring TV show. Every fan can see how to fix this problem, why can't they just fix it?

I used to be a big fan of WWE back in the day... when Austin, Rock and Brock were there...

Is it worth watching it again for an old school fan? A few friends tell me it's awful compared to how it used to be?

Why do I get horrible feeling this is going to be Orton dominating the match before SuperCena rises up in the last 5 minutes and gets about 12 pins?

If you asked me 6 months ago I would say yes, but now no. All you have is Super Cena, Scary Orton, Crippled Undertaker and Money-Making DX.

Haha! Could see this happening too. Just think WWE protect him way to much, I can see him going to SD though, there tour roster is way to thin.

I think the time is drawing near that I drop wrestling all together tbh.

HIAC although I did buy it was the first ppv in years that I didn't actually stay up to watch at all, the couple of events before that I was watching the first hour or so before calling it a night so I'm progressively getting less and less bothered by the events.

Whoever decided the match order for HIAC wants shot IMO, the major headline of the night was Taker winning the title yet his match was on first? The HIAC match that had nothing riding on it was last and was a complete non event as it was just HBK getting beat up for 15 minutes after of course the rubbish 10 minute scuffle around the ring before the match actually started.

I thought Cena v Orton was pretty good but again why have it in the middle of the event and not ending the show?

Then you have last nights news, a 60 minute Iron Man match, cool I thought as they haven't had one in a while and the Cena/Orton matches have been good so far but then they throw in the no DQ rule - why not just make it a 1 hour 3-1 handicap match then as there's nothing to stop Legacy just being in the match for the entire 60 minutes as well now

Then I read that over on Smackdown it's going to be Taker v Batista again - coz we've never seen that before have we

I'm moving into my new place soon anyway so probably cant afford the £15 every month as it is, thankfully I dont look like I'll be missing much these days

Now the world is right again, and we got several chairshots, and RKO and a Punt for it aswell. :D

Scary Orton is the only thing really going in WWE at the moment. I tend to always prefer the heels and now there is one who can a) act is role brilliantly, he can be pretty intimidating at times it has to be said and b) actually wrestle. Even though 70% of Ortons matches are just him stomping on a downed opponent I find it hard to get bored of it seeing how perfectly it fits the character.

Does anyone else think that Orton goes too far in terms of the show being PG now? Not that I'm complaining or anything but in comparison to others he does get away with a lot of non PG suitable material.

He does get away with a lot but the WWE needs to return to a more mature viewing. Sure, PG keeps the kids entertained and keeps Linda happy but at the end of the day, the ratings figures during the Attitude Era speak for themselves.

I don't think many parents would stop their children from watching it anyway, so they have very little to lose.

I totally agree, the lack of blood in these Hell in a Cell matches really does remove some of the realistic looks to it all.

I also agree that I'm getting tired of Big Show and this knockout right, when he hit Rey with it at HIAC I initialiy thought he had caught him for a chokeslam which would have been far more impressive.

One of the reasons I stopped watching is because of cena. I don't think people can appreciate how much I hate him and ray mysterio.

They can take credit for trashing my interest in a lot of shows... even back in the day cena could take stupid amounts of punishment, deliver one "finisher" and then "lol I winz!"

Cena seems like a decent guy to me, I quite like him.
He's nothing special wrestling wise but he's not as bad as some fans make out. Theres been worst.
But I agree the WWE over use him as he sells so many shirts.
