The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

What a joke, it was a protected headshot anyway ... Taker put his hands up!

Plus "the stunt", what ... is kayfabe dead?

I highly doubt they fined Triple H and Taker of all people, probably just a public stance

Whilst a company the size of the WWE should protect their stars to avoid concussions and the unlikely event of another Benoit situation it seems odd to me that they still produce a ppv called Extreme Rules  surely rather than put on half hearted Extreme Rules matches due to the lock down on what can and cant be done just drop that event and bring back the classic Backlash?

Has anyone tried to get Wrestlemania tickets before? How hard is it? Can you get packages that include flights etc?

Strongly considering getting tickets for next years Mania to be there live for Rock/Cena

I am too wanting to go. I've seen everyone else I've wanted to see live except Rock, Austin (probably be there) and Taker (retirement mania?)

Only problem is, I don't have any crazy hardcore wrestling friends willing to spend up to £1500+ to go see mania plus book days off work for it. Wanna be travel buddies? :p

Its cheaper buying the packs if you go in a group. I think they go on sale in sep/oct.

What I find funny is the fact they have banned pile drivers yet, Takers finisher is pretty much a piledriver.. probably more dangerous of a move. I guess he gets away with it since he is the only one that does it.

no his move is hell of a lot safer, the persons head is like a good 4 inches of the ground, depedning on the person. With pile drivers normally anything can happen.

Yea but with pile drivers, your shoulders are resting on the thighs of the guy doing the move. As long as you hold on tight and don't let him slip. With takers, if taker loses his grip, the other guy will go head first onto the mat.

the guy also is holding takers back with his arms and head with his legs. With a tomb stone, you can judge with the head to knees where your head will be when you hit the ground, with a normal pile driver, you have to tuck your head in, so that its not past the persons arse/thighs. And if your head is sligtly out, it will hit the floor.

btw i would love to go to WM. Miami aswell. What an event that will be!

Well they did do packs of 4 tickets which do work out a heck of a lot cheaper, if I could make sure I was getting near ringside then I certainly would get involved. Some of these massive arenas just make it suck if your too far away, end up watching on a titantron set up somewhere in the stadium...pah :p

Will look into it when they're becoming available however....I'm thinking some of my mates would actually be up for it anyways! Would be awesome to have an OcUK crew going over though :D

Anyone watch CSR btw on Wrestlezone? Have to admit I do enjoy watching that at the tail end of the week.

Heres the packs wwe were doing for wm27. Probably be the same for wm28. I can see Taker being inducted into the hall of fame. That would be amazing to go see.

I mean $822 per person with accom is nothing mate...

Talking around £510 at todays exchange rate which is great for axxess and the hall of fame thrown in as well as Raw the next night, of course you'd do that!

Bargain tbh :)

You could count me in at that price(though I imagine it will be more)...would be some 4 night trip :D

Raw is the pack as well?

I'd only go if I could get ring side tickets.

Cool. Was worried I'd have to go on my own. Keep in touch and around the time the tickets are on sale, we can start planning then. :D

RingSide at Mania I believe is around the $2000.00 mark which can't be packaged mate.

Raw is in the final pack that is mentioned in your quote which is in the first 5 rows.

Tbh Low level Risers isn't too bad seating to be honest. You are on Floor Level, so many rows back but it's the riser area so depending on how quick you take it is how close you'd be.

It's an extremely attractive deal when you factor in 4 nights accomodation, mania tickets, raw tickets, hall of fame and all the axxess events plus the signing session.

I'm certainly going next year so will look forward to the miami packs being revealed.

Floor level is fine. I'm 6'0 and 6'1 with my boots on. No problem looking over peoples heads. lol.

That's the main thing I want/expect is Floor Level, of course ringside would be amazing but I aint shelling out 2grand for the option :p

I think they do a great package really since you don't have to bother about anything, it's all taken care of, well apart from flights :p

I wonder how far the hotel is from the Arena? Might have to factor in taxi journeys. Plus about £300 spending money. Good thing we have a year to save up.

You can count me and the Mrs in at that price also!!

Someone needs to keep an eye on it nearer the time as I always forget to keep up with tickets for WWE events, been wanting to go to one of the UK shows for the past 3 years but always forget to get the tickets when they go live :(

I'll be getting reminders sent to my email when they go live and a few days before they go live. Still a good several months off before we can actually do any real planning.

The best thing is the way things end up it really is a staggered payment...pay for the package then get flights booked around a couple of months after :) No need to do it all at the same time which makes it a lot easier.

It's like enough time to save for tickets then 2-3 months saving book flights then 2-3 months to save for going. Spending money won't be anything insane required either for what you actually spend on food etc :)

lol! Both must have known about the possible fine and went ahead and did it anyways, a fine for a chair shot is ridiculous!

Floor level is not all that it's cracked up to be.

Expect having to sit up and down every 5 seconds, plus signs and banners blocking your view.

Went to WWE Raw and Smackdown on separate nights (both TV Tapings) at the O2 last year.

Raw we had floor level ten rows from front, not the best view, mainly people's heads, had sit to on the upright folded position of the seat to give us a few inches of height.

Smackdown we had seats one row back from ringside, for obvious reasons 1000% better. Plus with Smackdown we got Superstars and NXT matches too.

Though I'm on TV loads of times, including a close up lol
