A Bounty hunter who's name strike fear into the Hero's.

One of a select few who Vader entrusted to get work done.

A viscous killer.

What was Boba's character in the original trilogy out of interest?

Because really he was just a cool looking suit of armor...

Ah, the seemingly willful "blank slate" ignorance that's used elsewhere in society/against certain groups to excuse apparently innocent behaviour. Very, very interesting to see it popping up here.

Have you actually watched the OT?! I really cannot believe anyone that has can - in good faith - deny that Boba Fett is supposed to be:

I'll be charitable and assume you're somehow mixing up Boba Fett and Captain Phasma.

For the record, what a wasted opportunity this is. The Critical Drinker has it right, as usual.

He didn't kill anyone in the original trilogy.

And he wasn't even named in Empire Strikes Back.

And in ROTJ a blind Han solo knocked him in to the sarlaac pit by happenstance.

I have no idea what you are referring to in the rest of your post.

I have to agree with Vincent, the 1st time we see him he's with a bunch of other bounty hunters he just happens to be smarter than the others and is able to track Han/leia/chewy etc. He then 'dies' like a chump.

Boba Fett being the ultimate baddass was something that was brought in with the EU stuff.

Guess that's what's wrong with most films these days. The audience need everything spelt out for them.

Just watched the Drinkers review. Hah ouch

My view on the show is even worse now lol.

Boba reminds me of one of those males that probably invites random males off tinder around to service his wife.

He certainly wasn't a mystic Samurai monk, like Temuera Morrison thinks he needs to act like. He is the weakest link.

Wait? Wut! They are rebooting Firely without Joss Whedon.
It's the season for sci-fi reboots from 20-25 years ago.... I didn't know about firefly either but I was aware of babylon 5 which at least has J. Michael Straczynski onboard again. Joss Whedon isn't exactly popular these days due to some allegations about him being 'verbally abusive' on set.

TBH I doubt either will be as good as the originals, firefly is on disney so will likely be more child friendly (can you really see them using reavers) and babylon 5 is on (might get renamed due to sale) the cw, which generally aims at the 18-35 crowd meaning it will likely end up being very 'political'. I'll likely try watching it but I'm not exactly hopeful, which is incredibly annoying because b5 is one my all time favourite shows. You can't really have any 'feel good' cameo's in the b5 remake either because a large portion of the original cast have died too.

The issue is Joss Whedon knew how to write the dialogue properly and also tried to cast people who would "gel" together. I am uncertain how anyone else could do a better job unless they really understood Firefly as a TV series.

Babylon 5 originally aired on PTEN,which was a part of Warner Bros. Television Studios which targeted ages 18-54. The CW is owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television Studios produces a lot of programmes for The CW,so in a convoluted way its more or less the original network as the original. My hope is because JMS is involved the writing will be decent.

I hope that as well but sadly with the current climate in American television focusing on being 'politically correct' and 'inclusive' over the actual story I fear that JMS might have his hands tied a bit.... but we can hope for the best in the mean time.

Firefly, while it might have Disney behind it, they've been a bit hit or miss with their stuff of late and like you say if they don't get good dialogue it might as well be scrapped before they start.... I am curious how they deal with the way that the main languages of firefly are Chinese and English considering the 'political tension' between USA and China lol.

Boba Fett is a perfect example of their hit or miss, had a great opportunity but it seemed to fall short overall, hell in one episode I felt like I was watching the Last Samurai before the final battle (the episode where boba fett gets his stick weapon) lol

I only watched the 1st two episodes so far,so probably need to get on and finish it. I do hope they tackle it the way The Expanse did which didn't seem too forced but hard to say nowadays!

Oh yeah, forgot about the Chinese aspect in the original.

Or...send the incredible assassin after them first, before the battle even gets started.

Or...when going back to Jabbas palace for backup, bring your incredibly well armored ship instead of a vulnerable baby rancor.
