shouldnt matter, what does matter is if you have a 64 or 32 bit machine.

if its 64 bit you have to run the sidebar in 32 bit mode, i do that
 
if i rememebr i went into task manager then killed the 'sidebar' process, disabled it in startup processes [must do this], then navigated to the x86 program files folder, opened sidebar from there and thats it

then each time windows starts it will start the x86 version
 
Would someone who's got the 10 ft hud weather to work mind sharing the code? Mine doesn't seem too happy, and I'm wondering if it's an old version.

Its an adapted stockmarke****ch stock checker. Its got US as well as European markets. Think it was SimonC that altered it or Simian iirc

Here it is anyway

Also with your weather malarky have a look for the URL line near the top of the ini file.

you need to change it to read http://wml.weather.com...... instead of http://xaop.weather.com...... with the code you require for your area :)

Thanks that stock market ticker is brilliant. Still having issues with the 10 ft weather though. I'm using:

Is that correct because I'm still having no luck :(

EDIT: in the end i just registered at weather.com for their xaop feed :)
 
Is anyone able to recreate this background for me but without the graphic, just the slightly blended light blue background in a resolution of 3360 x 1050?

Using this website to search the image I managed to find a webpage with a link to the wallpaper. You can find it here. It also happened that the website it was linked from had a whole load of other quality wallpapers, see here.

TinEye is a very useful website and it would save a lot of clutter if more people knew about it and used it, maybe it could be added to the OP? You can also get a FF/IE/Chrome plugin which enables you to right click any image and search for similar images on TinEye. Get it here.
