The Callisto Protocol

Valhalla and RE Village worth £50 do me a favour
Its called different tastes. RE Village was my game of the year in 2021 ( I should add that on a poll on this very forum Village was also the most commonly picked game as game of the year for 2021 :D ). Valhalla I got over 400 hours out of. :)

But why not address the actual point of my post, which was that some single player games ARE worth £50 and that a game being single player doesnt inherently mean its not worth £50

I've just watched a review and honestly the game just looks...bad. Incredibly boring looking enemies. Incredibly boring looking melee combat. Incredibly boring looking gunplay. Incredibly linear looking map. Even the settling looks lacklustre compared to what I thought it would be from the trailers.

Definitely giving this a miss now regardless of the performance. Roll on Dead Space Remake.

Bloody jokers. They've had god knows how long putting this game together, and can't be arsed to fix the stuttering for release, but then all of a sudden can magic up a fix in a few hours. Most likely because, at the time I looked, 3,500 negative reviews they probably lost around £175,000 pounds of sales. Like many others, I'll revist this one in the sales.

lol this game is getting wrecked on steam
Showing 2,980 reviews that match the filters above ( Mostly Negative )
only 36% positive

or only 34% positive when I remove the only English reviews filter
Showing 6,369 reviews that match the filters above ( Mostly Negative )

This is why games shouldn't be £50+

I will wait until it is sub £20. By then it will be more polished after @mrk does the beta testing for me :p:D

After the greatness that was RE7, then they brought us Village which was 99% forgettable apart from the messed up abomination part (huge fetus thing). Honestly I can't see the appeal of the game at all.

I got about 5 minutes into Valhalla and deleted it, but I find all AC games crap to be fair.

I agree with the other games you posted, brilliant titles and worth the money. But the former, no way. Each to his own of course.

Enjoying it so far. Stuttering, when it happens, is annoying but it luckily doesn't happen too often. About an hour in and it's good fun, graphics are gorgeous as well. Certainly pushing the 4090 more than I expected

Had I have paid for this game I would be ******. I mean it is literally broken.
Mind you I wouldn't be paying 50 quid for a 12-hour game either

I would if it was 12 hours of absolute excellence. Metro Exodus was about 15 hours and Alien Isolation was 14 hours. Cant remember how much I paid for those but they were both of such high quality for me that I'd have been happy to have paid 50 for them

Good shout. I think what I probably meant to say was a 12-hour single-player game with no replayability.

its really pretty bad in terms of stutter and now keeps crashing.

I also think FSR +HDR is a bit broken, makes the blacks... well... not black...

I guess we are stil waiting on that day 1 patch - I will wait until they get a patch out and see what its like - but ill keep my played time to less than 2 hours until then.

Alien Isolation is a masterpiece.
Just remember to install one of the Zenomorph AI mods that makes the alien properly scary and actually balances the difficulty

My video has now fully processed the UHD quality stream, you can see what my experience was now properly:

Such a shame this seems like a bit of a mess. Not sure it's worth me trying to get around the ban to play it at the moment. If they fix all the stuttering etc, I'll give it a go next year sometime. I never actually played any of the Dead Space games, so at least it will be more of a fresh experience for me.

anybody elses crashing now?

since yesterdays install of the most recent nvidia drivers yesterday both this and death stranding are crashing every 30 minutes or so.
