I see the Turtle wax website are offering buy one get one free on the Hybrid solutions

Couldn’t see that offer but the website wasn’t playing ball with my phone.

However I did buy 3 “Plush Drying Towels” and signed up to the newsletter for an additional 33% off.

They appear to be the Twisted Loop Duo style towels which I’ve wanted for a while, £8.50 each I couldn’t not.
Two are going to be gifted :D

so going back to yesterday i think ?
a couple of you washed your car in direct sunlight, and got water spots

couple of ideas for you

first, get a canopy, just a quick pop up one

2nd, use De-ionized waster which take away all the mineral deposits , so it will take away water spots

your other options include re sheduling to another day and try and get out earlier in the day or later in the evening when its cooler

one other option

Pre Treat the surface with the ONR (Rinsless wash) and/or add it to your shampoo, as it acts as a de-iornizer (or APC)

I’ve noticed mainly manoeuvrability, especially as me and next door have a double drive but nothing separates us and I’m close to the house, so with the longer gun I find myself back against the wall or next doors car.

I can get into the wheel arches etc much more easily, the short gun comes with varying degrees of spray patterns (More accurate spray for door shuts, more direct for wheels vs paintwork etc) and the quick release is great, also the spring on my Karcher Gun failed so that was mainly why I switched.

Edit: But they aren’t essential, I wouldn’t rush out and upgrade to one if there is other gear you still need/want but a very nice luxury IMO (Having only used it once so far) :)
What's a good snow form lance to use with this? I've got an Autobrite one but I'm not sure I have the right fitting to use on this...

Autobrite’s Foam Lance is absolutely fine as the fitting you currently have can be removed using a spanner and a compatible Male 1/4 Quick Release Connection attached (Couple of £)

Do you already have a Stubby/Short Trigger Gun? - Most give you the option to choose which connection you require and come with interchangeable nozzles and a 1/4 QR Connection for your foam lance.

I bought Autobrite’s which fit my Karcher and came with Nozzles + Connection to attach the lance, basically everything you need to get up and running, other kits appear to include these also.

You use a water butt which eliminates waterspouts for me. Still I don’t like washing in direct sunlight better to do it early or later in the evening.

Great shout, thank you sir. I've had some ONR in my basket for ages; need to just pull the plug.
Any recommendations for interior cleaner? I've no dashboard or interior plastics stuff at all.
And I'm an idiot as I found my Dash and Interior Cleaner in a bucket no where near my car washing gear.

the karcher , must be 1.5m, metal lance with the right angle is great for wheel arches, or underbody, but I didn't use it much because of risk of getting water into electrical connections or dirt down into brakes,
with the rear wheels off the other day to prepare for some suspension work I put a bin bag over the hub, for an arch deep clean;
if I had an suv would be useful too, if roof was out of reach.

I've ran out of AG Leather Cleaner and Cream but I've inherited some Mercedes own brand stuff which seems ok.

AG leather cleaner must be their worst product - maybe they have reformulated and it is no longer a brownish cream,
but it just left a greasy feel to me - but, I learned, it is BMW leather with some kind of polyurethane coat

You’re thinking of the cream, not the cleaner. Creams and conditioners are little use on modern leathers as they are all ‘clear coated’, they just need cleaning. Any conditioner will just sit on top and cause the greasiness.

yes you are right it's the balm AG stuff I have unused pots of - did think it said it should clean too, which is the corner I cut when I purchased it;
for most of it's life the drivers seat had a towel on it because it got too hot when wearing shorts in hotter climes, so leather was wasted.

e: V Always used to get a nice coat of Le Mistral - saharan sand on the car - the kinda dirt you can live with.

Is it just me or do some you also like your car being a bit soiled and dirty. Just the right amount of dirt and the right kind where its looks used and driven but not grotty and gross.

Probably just me :D

Yes depends on the car though usually too, can look really good with a bit of dirt layering the side panels for that funky look about them. The tyres/wheels and exhaust tips should be clean however!

Speaking of which, I got a bottle of King of Sheen tyre product off Amazon this week and quite impressed with it. Comes with an applicator too and you only need to spray on a small amount to then spread all along the tyre and rim protector lip. Without buffing off and once dry, it leaves a satin lustre and not glossy as the name "sheen" might otherwise suggest.

Yes I know the centre cap has rotated, it has since been sorted!

Edit*
Did some more cleaning stuff as the C3 arrived earlier and the sun was still out..

Does anyone use one of those car/bike/pet dryers on their vehicles?

I watched a few YT vids where folk were raving about them so I picked one up from the rainforest place and it arrived yesterday. Gave my M340i a wash using Autoglym Polar Blast then Polar Wash and then used the dryer on it. Whilst it took a while (probably just need to get used to it) compared to using my drying towels, it was very satisfying to see the water droplets run off the bodywork effortlessly. Gets into all the little nooks and crannies in the wheels too.

Just wondered what other folk thought of these? Early days for me, not fully convinced but its nice not to have to run a drying towel over the surface of the paint.
