Bought some wire wool yesterday to have a bash at cleaning up my back box a little bit, its only a standard system but part of the back box/tail pipe can be seen from the outside of the car.

Got on the floor, put the wire wool to the back box with some Autosol on... and it fell off.

New one being fitted tomorrow now

That'll teach you for trying to clean your car too much! :D

Sorry I just laughed at you but thats epic. Can just imagine someone looking at the autosol and thinking it didnt say it would do that

Not the foggiest I'm afraid. I wouldn't pay someone to detail my car, but then I wouldn't know where to start with a machine polisher either. I can just imagine giving it a go, standing back and then admiring all the patches of missing paint from the car's panels. ;)

Oh, The Mondeo looked so shiny I assumed you owned a machine polisher and polished it that way! If that's all by hand, wow!

Haha, better then than whilst driving...

I use Autosol every few months on my exhaust tips, keeps em nice an' shiny.

Anyone got tips for a good interior cleaner, not stubborn mark cleaning, just a general clean?

I'm amazed it didn't fall off when I was driving, by the looks of the soot build up it's been ready to fall off for a fair while, quite lucky in that respect.

At least this way I can keep on top of the new one :)

There's a random sort of water spill stain on my back seat! I've used 1001 carpet cleaner in the past and it's worked great. This time it left a stain! Any suggestions?

Thinking of some stuff to buy in the Halfords BOGOF...

Which is better, Megs Hot Shine Wet Look Tyre Spray or Megs Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection?

I'm thinking it's probably much quicker to consume the spray.

I don't and his is tiny.

I've just started working for a detailing company (brand new company, will release more info when we get a bit more work in) and it's stricly mobile at the moment till we get enough work in where we need and can afford to rent some premises. :)

The job was offered to me aswell which is nice as the guy needed some help and he knows I like my cars so we are both happy! The only thing I haven't done is machine polishing but i'm on a full day course tomorrow for that so i'll be up to speed in no time!

Nice one, i hope that goes well for you, try and get a few quid together to sink in the firm while its still small if it looks like a winner.

Thanks. I was a bit overwhelmed at first when he gave me all the gear. Got boxes and boxes of products, mainly Meguiars and Dodo Juice, a rotary polisher, George wet vac, pressure washer with foam lance and unlimited towels, micro firbe cloths and applicator pads and a very tidy Transit Connect! :p

The guy is also setting up an online shop for the products we use so he's got plenty of stock in his garage! :D

buy a large fold away Gazebo?

It's also quite windy :p

It's not a problem rescheduling. The guy is happy and wants a top job doing. It's supposed to get a bit better in an hour or so. At the moment i'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting for the rain to go away! :(

Well, the weather got better so went round to the clients house. Though the weather wasn't brilliant I washed his Jag XKR instead. Lovely looking machine and awesome interior with some gorgeous seats!

Anyway, starting washing it and when I was just about to finish it started raining!!

And my job for Monday...

Shouldn't take too long... only weighs 600kg so not much to wash and it doesn't have a roof!! :p
