I wash mine (and machine polished yesterday) in direct sunlight and had no issues with getting high quality results. Just don't let the panels dry so the moment you finish the final rinse drop everything like your balls are on fire and start drying with your MF and detailing lube spray :)

Also at this point, a damp MF works best for streak free windows, no need for window cleaners at all.

Drying with lube spray? Never done that before, not that I have any spray as my clay only needs water. I usually wait until the sun has passed the house so it's not shining directly on the car then start washing it but try to sheet the water so it runs of the bodywork leaving minimal drying.

I just dry the whole car at once though, not one panel at a time. Would do it differently if I was 'detailing' though.

I too thought there was no need for window cleaners but then used one and it made the windows shine, did leave a few streaks behind so didn't do the windscreen :\

The windows shine anyway, once clean - regardless of product used :p Mine shine and I only use cleaners on the inside every few months.

lube spray as in quick detailing spray, I use Meg's speed detailer while drying each week or before the polish when polishing and waxing time of the year comes.

Halfords now doing BOGOF on car stuff instead of 3for2. Bargain!

Want to take this chance to grab some Autoglym HD Wax for only 20 squids, anyone in Bristol wanna go halves?

On which products, all or just chemicals? Halfords website being changed so cannot check.

re: detailing sprays, I have some Meguiars Speed Detailer spray, and I recently found something called 'Astonish Spray'n'Shine' for about £1 a bottle.

It seems to me to do pretty much the same thing!

Get some Megs Last touch in a gallon, its cheaper that way, plus you can dilute it 50-50 so lasts absolutely ages.

Amazingly the websites not being changed, its just being HAMMERED by detailing nerds ordering tonnes.

Managed to pick up 2 boxes of AG HD Wax in my lunch break so I'm happy :D. Plenty at the Cribbs store if anyones interested.

I'm a little gutted about this. I've spent a lot of money in there on 3for2 over the last month!

You'd make a good killing on eBay with this offer. I might try making some of that wasted cash back!

Gave my Mondeo a good going over today - Washed, polished with AG SRP, sealed with AG EGP, "blackened" a couple of bits of trim, cleaned the glass, cleaned wheels thoroughly, discovered I'd ran out of tyre blackener :( and it now looks fantastic sitting in my driveway. Who says silver cars are unrewarding

Pruned the conifer tree next to it too, I couldn't get to the front nearside of the car before  and it kept dropping its crap on the car, so it might help a bit in that respect :p

Liking the ST! Silver cars look great when clean, probably due to the fact that most people don't bother cleaning theirs because they 'don't show the dirt'. In the spirit of maintaining the Mondeo love, spent an hour or two on my (relatively dull!) one this afternoon. Just a wash and polish with AG Ultra Deep Shine, also used their wheel clean stuff.

I'm looking for a site that someone linked to ages ago where someone repaired black leather using liquid shoe polish. I think it was on a Z4.

My Google skills aren't what they used to be..

TIA!
