Is the Karcher K214M a decent enough pressure washer for snow foaming, and general cleaning of the car? Dunno if I could justify spedning 400 notes on a 2100W 125bar behemoth, if an 80 quid karcher would do just as good a job, as I just want to snow foam the car and clear it, not strip the surface rust off the Titanic.

Also is their foam nozzle any good, or is it going to be better to shell out more for a proper snow foam lance.

little help required guy's Ive noticed that my silver astra has quite a lot of very fine swirl and scratch marks mainly on the bonet and was just wondering is there anything out there to buy to help shift these other than getting the car professionaly machine detailed?

I've just made a budget and home-brew sun gun.

GU10 halogen bulb craftily bodged onto the end of a junction box with a 3 metre lead. Not bad for the sake of a £3.50 GU10 holder.

Park up, nod to the Polish bloke pay £5 and done. No upsets when a bird flies over half hour later and spills its guts over the car and plenty of time to do other things rather than go all ocd and fanny about.

Some people like to take care of there cars and not let a fool with a dirty sponge scratch the hell out of there paint.

I'm unfortunately going to have to rely on one of these Polish washes tomorrow ahead of the meet as I don't keep the necessary stuff to clean my car in Winchester, and it's currently filthy. At least they make a point of not using sponges to avoid scratches, although I doubt they would be as careful as I am. They do offer hand polish but I also doubt their definition would be the same as an enthusiast's.

Our local Bosnians are not bad at all, if you supply the wax and keep an eye on them its very reasonable.

I was told this about the Turks that operate locally. Until I took my mint VXR through as a test and they covered it in swirls and marring. Whilst they use decent stuff, they use the same stuff all day long, with infrequent bucket changes.

I usually get my car cleaned by Iraqis ...they do a decent job for a decent price. Although the first wash of each car I have is usually done by me.

Quick question. Car has been idle for past 6 months so its accumulated a whole host of dirt etc on the outside from being outside so wanna give it a big clean over before it goes back on the road and so its protected before the winter months.

I've already got some Meguires Gold Class Wax, and some NXT Shampoo.

Been doing some reading and a lot of people clay bar their car? Can anyone explain where abouts in the cleaning process this comes, and also what is this snow spary shampoo lark about?

What order would I clean my car would it be....

1) Quick spray over with power washer
2) Clay Bar all over?
3) Snow spray with shampoo?
4) Rub off with wash mitt?
5) Rinse with power wash?
6) Dry car all over
7) Apply wax
8) Buff out?

Is that right or have I got it completely wrong? And can anyone offer any advice?

Also I have a scrape on my bumper (plastic bumper) down to the black plastic of the bumper, am I best off touching it up with a touch up kit, then T-cutting over it to smooth it over. Then doing the whole wash etc?
