Cool, thanks for the advice guys. the car is non-metallic Red will that collonite 476 be ok for it?

Do you give the whole car a once over with clay or just go for visibly dirty bits?

Yup it will be fine.

Just get some hand applicator pads for cheap monies from any of the detailing retailers and go wax on and wax off.

Remember to use thin layers though, it's a pain when you put too much on.

Anyway, never got round to waxing my car after the polish. But 3 weeks in the garage and work going on around the garage and outside means it now has a layer of dust and crap in the paint. Any idea of the best way to remove this as I only had polish in the car before hand, so would be leaning towards a wash to clean the crap off, as tyring another cheeky layer of polish will in theory do nothing but rub the dust into the bodywork?

Had my car detailed the other day, it looks absolutely stunning now. Not a single swirl mark or any micro scratches at all :D

I was amazed by the snow foam and how much cleaning it does. I am definitely going to invest in a pressure washer and snow foam attachment!

Yeah it was utterly mint when I viewed it / test drove it etc. But the dealer decided to perform a PDI (at cost to me) which involved using dirty yellow sponges  That wasn't the only thing they royally screwed up on but that's another story ;)

Someone I did a car for the other day said he'd used these (I think) before, I think he mentioned something along the lines of £250 a day.

That's cheap. I'd expect them to charge much more than that.

For a full correction, i'd expect them to be charging at least £400 and it's possible to do that in a day.

Cost me £500. They charge per job, not per hour/day. He spent 14 hours doing it (in a single day) :o

They put a coat of that "Blackfire" sealant on and 2 coats of wax. Should last a long time considering it's always garaged and only does limited mileage at the moment! :)

What exactly makes it worth 400 a day, that's silly for dragging a polisher over the car a few times. It really isn't a highly skilled job.

It's not just the 'polishing'... it's all the prep work that's involved and the little details aswell as getting the paint 100% perfect.

Sounds about right.
