It might be in my project thread but it's about time this thread became less homo, full of it's fancy elderflower wheel sealant and trim peddicures and got some Man cleaning time involved.

Take x2 12yr old suspension forks and add a 10:1 solution of Deox-C and warm water.

Leave for 24 hours and scrub it with your facial hair and you get this!

Nice one, sounds like a great car. My mate has bought one recently alongside his mental S4 and he seems to love it!

Any pics of it?
Well seen as this is the car cleaning thread ill post some pics up of todays effort. Nothing major just removed tar with tardis and clay on the really stubborn bits, hand polished with super resin polish and sealed with some cheap valet pro wax from i4d. (Crap stuff) Just a general tidy up really.
Only thing letting the car down at the minute is the wheels, theyre badly in need of a refurb and again are on the to do list. The back bumper also needs a respray/smart repair. If you look just below the number plate the finish is very flat. Im guessing its had some paint there in the past and not the best workmanship done.
Overall its a tidy car though and doesnt look like its done 70k.I also need to spend abit more time with Gliptone on the leather to pull the rest of the denim stains out. Unless you can recomend any other good leather cleaners?

Very tidy mate, love that interior.

I tend to favour the Zaino Leather 'Twins' (Z9 & Z10). Very effective, and leave a nice, natural finish.

G-Techniq C5 is the absolute 'best' out there

http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/c5-wheel-armour/

It may seem 'pricey' but absolutely nothing touches this for durability on wheels - you will easily see 6 months or so.

If you want something 'better value' but easy to use, with great durability, then I'd recommend Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. It can be used on glass and paintwork too. You should see a good 2-3 months with this.

The Poorboys is decent enough, certainly better than the Chemical Guys product, but it tends to be gone after 4-6 weeks.

Excellent, thanks for that. Might have a play with both!

I use the Collinite on my exhausts too after polishing them - they just wipe clean

I think it was designed originally for power cables or something random, but it's very durable and doesn't mind a bit of heat, so ideal for wheels and exhausts. Looks decent on paint too!

Nice 3.2 TT

I've spent a few evenings this week washing the car each night. Just waiting for some stuff from polished bliss to turn up

Can I hire one of you guys? :D

Would love to give my car the VIP treatment and treat it's swirls and a surface scratches but just don't have the time, knowledge or equipment.

Email in trust. :p ;)

New product testing today in advance of doing someone's car at the weekend - results are epic.

I can't capture how sharp and deep the reflection was, but this was my best effort. The bonnet is probably the worst panel on the car, too.

Proper pics tomorrow.

Yes, SRP and Z2P, thought I'd give it a go on my own car first :)

I'd normally use blackhole on my own car for "interim" polishes, but wanted to test how SRP behaves on the rotary, and make sure Z2P bonds to it.

I'm not impressed with SRP - annoyingly dusty and I don't rate it's filling properties compared to blackhole, but it'll do its job as a cleaner polish :)

I find it works better by DA, it dries out a touch too quickly via Rotary and as you say, begins to dust like crazy.

Zaino themselves do a couple of cleansers, one abrasive, one not. ZAIO (non abrasive) is an amazing paint cleanser, but it's pricey and doesn't fill, so not always suitable for use.

Z2 is fine over BH btw, as its an acrylic based glaze, so should bond without issue.

You'll be wanting some Z8 now - AWESOME top up sealant from Zaino

Honestly, ZFX is such a waste of time! You can still add more than one layer in a day without ZFX. I tested two layers on my bonnet last Winter, half with ZFX, half without. No difference, at all. I'd save your cash and buy some more Z2!

Also, give Z2 a try on your wheels. It's REALLY good!

Immediately afterwards? I wanted the ZFX to save time in layering.

I will get some Z2 on the wheels tomorrow morning when I give the car another layer :)
