Can't you just do all your bits, go over it with a mitt and then use a watering can to get rid of suds and dry? Or just take your bucket and wash mitt to the jetwash and do it all on site.

I did go to the jet wash with my bucket and Meguiars Gold Class a few weeks back. Poured shampoo into bucket, inserted pressure washer nozzle into bucket, pulled trigger, face full of shampoo. Didn't think that one through.

It's just a bit impractical lugging my stuff to the jet wash, not being able to mix shampoo in warm water, and then having to rush because there's other people waiting to use it. It's not so bad at the ones where there are several jetting bays, but my nearest one is literally just off the main road on the petrol forecourt so it gets a bit busy.

Just use the chuffing hose, who's going to say anything?

To clean with a hose, I have to do it at my parents house on their drive way (no water in the garage under our flat).

Their next door neighbour is a police officer.

You're probably right, but would rather not risk the fine :p

Didn't even get all the gunk off :(

How can I get the sticky thick glue off?
Tried Isopropyl alcohol and a clay bar.

What's a good way of getting disc brakes looking good again? I'm aware simply using them will clean them to some extent, but in this case that doesn't work; they're covered in a thick, black sludge that just won't come off easily without hard work.

After a bit of scrubbing, one part looks a bit better (although still pretty bad), but there's no way I'm sitting there hours doing all four. Surely there must be an easier and quicker way of getting the dust/sludge/stuff off and getting it looking nicer than what I can manage (see pic)? :o

Go for a drive?

Looks like you might want to try different pads though, they look agressive on the disk.

bloody hell are your callipers working correctly or was you just driving on worn pads for ages?

You can either get them machined or do a lot of 60-30-60-30 breaking to polish them out quicker.
