When I finally get an outside tap fitted, I will be doing a full clean of my car, fed up of using the bucket method as I have to fill it up every time I do a single side of the car so it should be quicker with the hose.

I am hoping to do it in this order:

Rinse
2 bucket wash
Rinse
Clay
Rinse
Dry
Polish using SRP
Wax

Does that look good? Hoping to do this and then weekly wash it and apply more wax.

I need to get some Wax first, and unsure of what to get, I don't want to spend over £15, so I would like some suggestions :)

Anyone recommend a good mobile detailer in stoke on Trent? Picking up my new car in a couple of weeks and want it waxed and cleaned within an inch of its life when I get it. Dealers are crap at cleaning.

Autobrite Direct are in Fenton.

Their Facebook page has loads of pics of cars they've detailed and valeted. Top products as well :)

So my Nilfisk C110.3-5 broke recently and I need to replace it, should I go for a refurb unit seeing as I have all the hoses in fully working order still? Or should I look for something else?

How are you finding the FK1000? Been toying with the idea of picking some up. Put a load of stuff in a basket in CYC just not had the heart to press the order button. At £150 I think I can make do with the tons of stuff I have already but I might order the FK1000 up separately.

Clay needs lubrication dude.

Beer
Wash
rinse
Beer
clay while still wet

NO No NO! Do not follow this mans advice he is clearly a cleaning noob (I expected better out of you Fuzz). You are meant to have a beer on the go throughout this entire process. So like the corrected version above :D

Ha, true!

I think I might have put too much wax on mine, was an absolute bugger to buff off afterwards.
Anyone else tried Bilt hambers gloss protection system?

cheers fuzz, i knew to lube up before claying but most of the vids on youtube say to dry the car then apply stuff like a detailing spray to lube the car. would you just use the water that has been left on?

Different clays tend to prefer different lubrication, I've always used Bilt Hamber clay purely because it is happy using just water, so saves the cost of a Quick Detailer, plus the results are very good :)

Fuzz, don't you use that car for extreme offroading? Must be the most pampered one around :p

It needed a bit of remedial work after this!

and that went on for another five miles after that. :D

EDIT*
Ahh still processing, you'll have to wait a while.

I like it, it is very similar to Collie 476 in both application and beading. Although people in DW tend to apply FK1000 on the alloys and they don't use Collie on the alloys, I guess in that regard FK1000 is more flexible. Plus it also comes in a MASSIVE tin, much bigger than the Collie 476 for the same money.
