Used some Turtle Wax Interior 1 carpet cleaner on the front seats to get a few marks off. Wasn't hoping for much as I'd already used some house hold stuff, but it worked very well. I think the brush on the end helped the most.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good easy to use wheel protector?

I've used Bilberry to clean my wheels, but I'm picking up a car with nice new clean wheels this week, so I'd like something I can spray on the alloys to make future cleaning a bit easier. As the wheels are almost brand new, they shouldn't require too much, so the easier to use, the better.

Cleaning a windscreen with a razor blade? Anyone tried that?

He definitely is a touch obsessive (just another few sprays...) but generally his videos seem useful.

Ooh! This is useful, thank you. I really need to sort mine out, and someone recommended this to me the other day. I've got awful amounts of contaminant on my windscreen, and they suggested razor blades... I thought they were mad.

Get some poorboys wheel sealant 2 or 3 coats and your wheels stay clean

Give your screen a good clay :) normally helps with bugs too

I do really need to sort it all out. Next door treated their roof with some chemical at some point, didn't cover the windscreens and got chemicals on the windows. V. annoyingly.

Now, who wants to give me a noobs guide to what I need to do a proper wash, and a rough guide on the best way to get it done/how to do it.

Need to add some tar remover into it as well.

If you properly prep your wheels using ironx etc then Gtechniq C5 lasts for ages. Bit pricey though!

I've just ordered some C2V3 today - heard great things about it so look forward to winter prepping with it!

Thought I'd post back on how impressed I am with the Bilt Hamber alloy wheel cleaner.

As I have previously posted, I have tried a few different wheel cleaners, including acidic but have never been that impressed.
Bilt Hamber I can literally spray on and then 5 mins later pressure washer off.
I'd probably agitate with a brush every 3-5 washes as a matter of course but last wash this weekend I literally sprayed on and washed off and was stunned with the result.

The pads on my car dust quite badly so have always struggled keeping the wheels clean.
I have to fit new pads this month so am going to remove the existing to find out what make/model of pad I currently have so I can avoid for the replacement set.

Bought some of this today for my recently purchased used car, interior is in great condition but had a few small stains and the door cards were a bit dirty.

Door cards came up like new and all stains on seats have been removed, very impressed!

Can anyone recommend some scratch remover. They are very light scratches which you can't feel with your finger nail.

Hello, I've started to get into cleaning my car properly this past year, I wouldn't call it detailing just yet but its getting there. Anyway I think I'm getting to the point where a good machine polisher would be very helpful. Last week I washed the car with 2BM, Clayed it, treated it to some poorboys black hole by hand, then 2 coats of nattys red by hand, then a quick clean of the wheels and tyres. This took the best part of 3 hours and at the end my arms and shoulders where aching.

So what is a good machine polisher to get? Ideally I need a machine, pads and could do with some good polish both a high and low grit as some numpty has left some nice marks on my rear wheel arch in car park and I'd like to try and polish them out as best I can instead of calling the mobile paint shop out.

My budget is about £100 for the machine at the moment and can hopefully pick up some more pads down the line, obviously if I can get a cheaper machine and more accessories then that would be great.

This one is within budget, and there is a thread in DW forum for a discount code to get it down to £99.99 too.

So I was faced with a little fogging on my headlights - it doesn't look as bad on the photos as it was - but as you know, you can't stop but spot it once you know it's there. :(

Another less clear shot:

Some Mags metal polish applied (I went over each headlight about 10 times alternating from circular, to up and down, side to side rubbing. I applied the mags with just a regular cloth, then buffed it out with a microfibre towel. 10x per headlamp! Phew!

After that I then sealed them with C4 GTechniq (for UV protection).

For comparison the right headlamp now looks like this:

Came out really well:

Here's the after shot for the left headlamp:

Another angle:

I'm rather happy with how they came out. It would have been easier with a DA polisher though :p It took about an hour or so to do. However, felt very worthwhile. :) I just need to do a full detail to get rid of the swirls - that... I'm NOT looking forward to doing!
