:S For that kind of cost I'd rather pay a bit more and get a full respray which will be more permanent! If that's the case then I'll just let stone chips and light scratches accumulate over time and decide once they get noticeable :p

I'd like to point out that it wasn't even the whole car for a grand, it was the sills and front bumper!

Ouch! Was that a clear wrap? My memory of those is JP's old GTR that had a clear wrap on and he showed us how the edges had started to lift in certain places due to regular cleaning with a pressure washer, would rather just have the bare paint so you can polish/wax it all nicely and get it resprayed if it should need it.

Spent Sunday giving the car a coat of Collinite 476 and it hasn't moved since, came out to this this morning, made me happy.

Can't wait for the weather to improve so I can get a DA on it.

Is it flat red or metallic? Can never tell from the pics! Also, are you around this weekend? :p

I can't wait for it to improve so this can go down, note the beading though :D

I'm right in thinking that beading is in fact bad right? I thought I read that it helps keep the dirt on your car in pockets and that in fact meguiars have made the products that sheet the water off your car (which is much better for your paint) but they make it bead instead because this is what customers desire as it looks "cool"?

Cods wallop or wat??

I do recall hearing about that but it was actually on this forum I heard it, so whether it's a load of wallop or not is open for debate :p

Metallic, I just keep using potatoes for cameras :p Am around this weekend (am off work Friday too) and Matt (geekman) is back in the country for Saturday too. Text me and we shall sort something, I hear the forum can't remember we have M3s, maybe we can take lots of photos to post to remind them?!?! :p

Also, have a frozen beading picture.

Just bought her indoors a new car which should be here in the next week . I don't trust ford to put a decent finish on it so whats best to protect it once we pick it up .

Preferably something that dosent require a machine and is easy to put on / off

have a look at Gyeon Bathe + and Gyeon WetCoat , Simple to apply and rinse off and the beading and protection so far is amazing :)

Just used some Car Pro Reload 2015 on the girlfriends Polo today for some quick protection. Didn't put a base cleanse/polish down as there wasn't much time so will be interesting to see how long it lasts. It's very easy to use like C2V3 and I've used the tiniest amount in the bottle (also done the alloys).

Obligatory beading shots:

Ashamed to say I hadn't heard of this brand before, and then found this 'sample pack' for sale on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gyeon-Det...ure-More-/181681633035?_trksid=p2054897.l4275)

Is it worth going for at that price (I am also picking up a new Ford Fiesta for the wife next week) or is the seller pushing his luck a bit here, do you think?

Can't comment on the sample kit, however I can give a big thumbs up to Gyeon Q2 Tyre. It's quite messy to apply but it has lasted a good few weeks so far for me after putting two coats on.

Don't know what it is with car wraps that makes them susceptible to pressure washing apart from poor application , I'm struggling to think of a truck at work (that are all wrapped) that suffers from this, none get anywhere near the TLC of a car either!

these products just seem to be a beading/water repellent. what i was after was a wax or similar to protect the new paint . Its candy blue if that makes any difference
