Anyone on here use a water filter when car washing?

I live in a very hard water area, so drying the car straight after washing is an absolute must, or water spots form easily. Was thinking of getting hold of something like this: http://www.raceglaze.co.uk/400-litre-0ppm-car-washing-filter/

Apparently works very well, so much so that you barely have to dry the car at all if it's well waxed. Quite expensive, but I hate drying the car, so anything to make that stage quicker and easier is a big bonus to me. But I'd like opinions and experiences.

I wouldn't bother with anything like that; just go over it with quick detailer once you've dried it to get rid of watermarks. Takes 5 minutes and finishes off a "quick wash" nicely.

Are they really that good? Would you consider anything else?

Nope, if you have power then an electic Kranzle. Its literally something you'll buy once in your life. Won't need extra hose, or a new gun or new lance. Nothing, they are for life. And it's nice to actually use it also.

If mobile then a petrol Honda with a cat pump.

Was noticing that poor people weren't moving out of the high rollers lane quick enough on the motorway, so gave it a good clean :D

Kept it really simple, wash, microfibre style clay, and one layer of WAX.

Gave my car it's first 'proper' wash since about October today and gave a couple of new products a go which I was impressed with, full process:

Rinse
Washed with Meg's Gold Class (Bilberry on the wheels)
Clay bar the whole car
Removed all tar spots
Rinse
Polished with Chemical Guy's V36 on Orange Hex pads
Collinite 476s wax
Chemical Guy's Speed Wipe quick detail the whole car once wax was removed to get rid of any streaks
Chemical Guy's Window Cleaner
Rain-X
Meguiar's Tyre Gel
Meguiar's Metal polish on exhaust

No before pictures unfortunately but here's after, not bad shine for a silver car :D

I'm thinking k1152..... Does the hose on these lie flat and not roll up? One of the things which annoiys me on the nilifksk is that the hose coils on itself and gets caught on the vehicle.

Did the interior today.

Weather today was certainly good for a bit of car cleaning. Also checking the forecast there isn't any rain due for at least 5 days so I cracked on early today.

It was actually warm enough that water marks were actually becoming an issue again, the joys of spring! Here's is the worst before shot ever:

Went for -
Wheels cleaned with Wonder Wheels Hot Wheels, Ironx Liquid & Paste
Car Rinsed & Magifoam snowfoam
Washed with Auto Finesse Lather (two buckets) plus merino wool wash mitt
Tardis
IronX
Car Pro Claymitt (this was superb and greatly sped up decontamination)
Rinsed & dried with Purple Monster Cloth

I machined polished the car a year ago now and there was some light marring, plus the water marks from today to cut through.

Decided to go for Auto Finesse Tripple via DA (speed 3.5) on a black hexlogic pad which glazed it nicely. Topped that with CarPro Reload 2015.

Trims dressed with Auto Finesse Revive, wheels with Meguiars Endurance and exhaust with Autosol.

Still comes up alright for an old car!

Anyone reccomend a good cutting polish for BMW 3 series, silver, I was going to go G Techniq P1, around 500ml for £18, but wanted to see if there were alternatives with less price and just as good results, or a bigger bottle

I have some marks, a few light scratches, and swirls that need removing, and want to give it a gleam.

What is

Sonus SFX-1 Restore Polish
Price: £8.95
8 oz. bottle

Or

Farecla G10 Rubbing Compound

like? is it likely to do the job? I have purchased dodo juice clay kit, which I intend to do before hand.

EDIT: Ignore, went for Maguiers Ultimate Compound

Scholl S17+ on a BMW, the paint is hard as nails and this stuff will do the trick.

I have the next two days free now, so I'm going to give the car a clean!!

I have a bad back, so will probably take me 2 days just to do the outside !

I cant remember, but do you clean the wheels with the normal stuff that your washing the car with or not ? I'll be using the triplewax shampoo in this case if not, then I will use my alloy wheel cleaner instead

Was quite pleased with the result. :)

Noticed a whole lot of black specks on the wheels, I tried removing with my fingernails... but it wasnt moving, definately stuck on, I am assuming that it is tar.

What is best to remove this? TIA.
