I don't think you can stop water beading. It's a function of there simply not being enough water collection on the panel to cause enough weight to build and eventually roll off.

So whenever there's light rain, it will tend to bead.

It's not the wax. It's the dust in the air when some rain falls, it's not heavy enough to bead or sheet off so simply sits there until it dries leaving the dust spots. It doesn't happen all the time but climate conditions do vary.

You cannot fight it if your car is parked outside really. It could happen when your car is not under the canopy, for example.

Or buy a convertible soft top eh? Least you don't have to worry about water spots on the roof. :p

Perhaps so, but a Cali duster would be a once in a while thing, surely? A cover would go on and off each day?

She's had her first wax today now anyway :)

Looking better, lets see how long that lasts!

Those marks are just the joy of having a black car when it rains after atmospheric dust coating the car.

Its best just to chalk it up as normal and wash the car when it needs it.

Washed, polished and waxed the 55 yesterday. Was full of dust in an hour :(. Atmospheric dust? Doesn't help that the developers next to us have decided to move their huge pile of soil while it is all very dry. At least it has a good layer of wax now.

Washed the TT today, that seems to be OK still.

Also gave the exhaust tips of the 55 a good bit of work again. Very few deposits remain on the inside and they are now super shiny :) - they get a little better each time I do them. I wouldn't like to think how many days I have spent getting them to this point. Wish I had got the drill attachments sooner though.

All I need now is GTAV to finish downloading - I am running out of things to do. My engine has had a good clean, I can't find anything else to do!

I will have my new garage in the autumn, can't wait tbh (and to move away from a building site).

Funny how the dusty rain convo came up, got back to my car when going home earlier to be greeted by them!

Or just use the car cover when this sand rain comes pouring down so couple of times a year at most?
