Looks good mrk.
I got my cars winter coat on today too, took 5 hours in total, knackered now!

Being knackered is a good feeling from a job well done though :p

The finished result is magnificent:

Doubt the Type R is getting a proper strip back and going over with the DA for winter this year - I don't even think I've used it more than about 5 times in the last two months (last wash) and yet it's still minging

I'd be grateful if someone would recommend me a polish and pad combo please.
I have a 10 year old BMW with medium swirls and I'll be using a rotary polisher.
I did a paint correction about 5 years ago using Menzerna Intensive polish and a Blue waffle pad (not sure of the make) with pretty good results, certainly wasn't too severe a cut.
Ideally I'm after a one stage polish, Thanks :)

Sorry I meant orange.. I always get the two mixed up  post edited.

White + 205 (Ultra Finishing Polish) is good for finishing indeed.

Thanks Robbo that makes me feel much better!

Thinking of grabbing the gazebo out of the shed and popping it over the car.

cross fingers its dry tommorow.

What do you reckon, polish again and then buff and wax or just dry it, buff off anything left and then wax?

Tried SONAX Xtreme Wheel cleaner (Full Effect) for the first time this weekend and I am absolutely sold. The wheels probably had 3 months (or more!) of brake dust baked on and it shifted it all with little effort, absolutely brilliant. PH neutral as well.

Will be skipping bilberry this time around and buy 5L of this instead.

EDIT

Nearly forgot, also tried out my new Mad Cow Mango Sauce interior dressing. Leaves a perfect matte finish. Not sure how long that'll last but looks great! Easy to use as well. Just wipe on/wipe off and doesn't mar adjacent surfaces if you go over.

Can't wait to get back in to regular car cleaning with the XF :D

Don't think I washed the Focus once in the year I had it, probably only paid Tesco to do it twice :( as although it was a decent car, I just didn't really feel much love for it

Going to do a big shop online and get a big clean and paint protection done this weekend before the bad weather really sets in.

What's the favourite on here for wax at the moment?

Guys I'm being extremely lazy but what's the best deep leather cleaner to clean the E60 including the leather arm rests and door cards??

What detailing spray / drying aid do folks recommend? I'm specifically interested in using it as part of the drying process (e.g. spraying it on the damp microfibre drying towel before wiping/patting the car dry after a wash).

In the past I've only used Meguiars Quik Detailer and Ultimate Finish Quik Detailer. Not sure whether to buy the Ultimate Finish stuff again or try something else.
