Bought some pads ready for a thorough clean of the car on Easter weekend.

Wow, I felt bad paying 17 for a Claying Kit

Looking to get a snowfoam lance for my Nilfisk C120 pressure washer http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/autobrite-heavy-duty-foam-lance-various-connectors.html - which connector do I need - "Quick Release Spiggott" or Bayonet option? :)

If it's a recent nilfisk (round notches on the extension lance) then probably the quick release spiggott (as nilfisk/kew/alto has narrower notches). I have a recent C110 and bought this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00O9XPX1A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 (although not had a chance to try it yet)

They do last a while, some of these steps are not needed every month so a clay kit can last a long time, if you don't drop it during claying! I found detailer goes the quickest so now I use plain tap water, does the same job.

Never used a glove but you fold the clay when it gets dirty so you are not dragging the dirt over the paint, how does the glove cleans itself during a session?

I went for this lance - a few others on here seem to have it too. I've no point of reference, but it seems to do what it says on the tin :)

I think it's made of rubber so it just feels off when you dip it in the water? I've not seen one in person though so I'm not too sure, there glove looks like it saves a lot of time!

Nice weather today so gave the car a good wash and sealant:

- Autobrite Top gloss snow foam
- Autobrite purple rain 2.0 wheel cleaner / iron remover
- Autobrite wheel cleaner
- Meguiars NXT car wash
- Autobrite endurance 2.0 tyre gel
- Autobrite Project 32 wipe on wipe off sealant

Being using Autobrite products since they detailed the 911 and they are my new favourite, having used Meguiars, Autoglym, Dodo Juice amongst others Autobrite is my new favourite. The top gloss is a great snow foam that adds a layer of wax making it great for keeping protection topped up. The purple rain 2.0 is easily the best wheel cleaner I have ever used and one of the most powerful for removing brake dust. Their tyre gel last likes Meguiars but has a better finish which can either be gloss or matt. The project 32 sealant I love because you apply it like a quick detailer, spray, wipe and turn the cloth and wipe off.

What are you guy's thoughts on clay bar vs glove?

Grabbed a G3 mitt to try recently and put it to the test today. I actually think its brilliant. Much easier than a clay bar, dont have to worry about folding it and cleaning it after use is miles easier. During use I 'rinsed' it in a clean rinse bucket and used a fresh soap mixture to relube, so to speak. It was miles faster than a claybar, and did as good a job imo.

The test vehicle was our V70, which hasn't been polished in literally years, and gets intermittent (read maybe two or three times a year) washes through an automated car wash. Covered in tar, sap and general fallout.

On a side note, I'm really impressed by AG's SRP - smashing lsp that's dead easy to apply and buff off. Got rid of the dullness, added some real shine and great reflections. Paint on the V70 is ruined though, 160ks worth of swirls, chips and scratches - as evident in the last pic, chips everywhere!

Cross post from show us thread. Finally got to use Auto Finesse Ultra Glaze and topped off with Auto Finesse Spirit Wax...got to say though costly, the finish is awesome.

A clay mitt is easier but as Raymond says it will cause more damage as the contamination isn't removed from the clay as easily. Obviously this really on affects people that have near perfect paint where the slight marring caused will be evident.

SRP really does work wonders. Just make sure that shine is sealed in :)

Love the M4, it really is shining!

I have a clay mitt, but haven't used it since the first try. Wasn't impressed. Sure, quicker than clay, but it isn't as thorough and will scratch too easily.
